I haven't made out with any of my friends, but I have kissd them, both guys and girls, on the lips in a completely innocent way. DH's best friend is like a brother to m and he kisses me hllo and goodbye on the lips. I don't consider that cheating and neither does DH.

I think kissing anyone else regardless is cheating - if you are committed to your SO, you shouldn't be doing ANYTHING physical with anyone else.

I mean -- I kiss my best friend goodbye or hello or whatever (on the lips) ... I kiss other friends the same. But that's just a kiss. And it's not cheating AFAIK.
But if I was to KISS her -- with intent -- then that WOULD be cheating. And DH would NOT be happy.

it depends entirely on the kiss. who its with, what kind of kiss, and what made it happen.
the same applies if its male / female / animal / mineral.
i think each situation is entirely different.

i agree with Ali.. i thin it depends on the whole entire situaton. fun is fun.. but lust is lust.... once when me & fh were at a bar i said that i was gonna kiss our bartender on the cheek to be funny and he said 'you could kiss him on the lips if you wanted too'.. i was totally shocked.. i was like 'huh?'... and he said 'what? i know you love me, not him... who cares? '

Very true. I have married friends who like to dabble. They propositioned me years ago to have a threesome with them and I know they did a partner swap another night with my friend and her exboyfriend. They have a very strong marriage, this is just the way they spice things up. They seemed to have calmed down a little since they had kids though.
