I have the same question...FH and I can't decide about whether or not to have an E party or not. Money is such a concern right now...

so... for all those girls out there that had an E party, how long after you got engaged did you have it?? Is there an average? when would you consider it 'too late'

If your sister doesn't want one, where would the drama come from? How about asking your sister if she'd like to have a joint e-party with you? She wouldn't need to do anything or invite anyone if she doesn't want to... and presumably she'd be there for your e-party anyway. Since you're saying no gifts, it won't make people feel like they need to get things for both of you.

Most likely from from her MIL. She really wanted my sister and her FH to have one, but to get gifts and money, which they didn't want. I never thought about having a joint e-party. Many of the guests invited would be coming to both of our weddings. I'll have to ask about that
