Spinoff of Sage's 80's thread...

Original post by BMD'sPeanut

How old were we in the 80's??

I was 3 (1980) through 12 (1989)...

I turned 13 in 1990.

A true child of the 80's, teenager of the 90's..

Awww...this is so cute. I am glad everyone is responding. I love the 80's too.
Much better than the 90's...Agreed????

On that I have to say no...I love the 80's music and fashion (YES, I ADMIT IT!!! lol) but I LOVED the 90's....maybe just because I enjoyed my teen years, I dunno, but JHS sucked big time and that ended in 1989 so for me, the 90's were a big step up!

I'm the same as heidla... 7 years old in 1980 and 16 in 1989. Much to FH's chagrin, I still listen to a lot of the same music that I liked back in the day! (Maybe I shouldn't admit that...)

VH1 and the like are trying to do 1990s nostalgia now. What-EVER! It's just not the same!

I was 2 in 1980 and ended the 80's at the ripe ol' age of 11!

As cool as the 80's were, since I was a teenager in the 90's I feel a greater connection to that time.

Personally, I can't wait until the day that VH1 does 'I Love the 90's'...I'm sure it'll make me feel a little old, but at least I will remember all of it...

While I loved the 80's and it was most of my childhood/preteen years the EARLY 90's were great .... ahh the teenage years, I miss those!

Grunge & Old School Rap
NIN, Nirvana, The Cranberries, Natalie Merchant (10,000 maniacs), Stone Temple Pilots, Tribe Called Quest, Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg
Gap clothes, Doc Martens, Motorcycle jackets
Blue Whales Parties / Keg Parties

ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN TODAY - I cannot stand the radio anymore! Bubblegum pop - UGH, what ever happend to artists that actually play music and sing without the help of a machine?!

I don't know...I remember those things like it was yesterday. If I had to pick a time in my life to relive...My early teen years would NOT be it...Ooohh...spinoff idea...

The teen years were HARD, but I think back to all I learned during those times and when I hear all the music, etc from that era I totally put myself back there. It feels like yesterday, sadly it was 10 years ago!

I learned the most about myself and my life about five years ago.

ETA: At least that's when it all began to gel.

I actually think I became 'MYSELF' right at the end of college and for a few years after that. That's when I became who I am today so to speak.
But High School was exciting and I LOVE the music from that time!
