Spinoff on breakfast question: What are you girls bringing to work for lunch thats healthy, filling and cheap?

Original post by melbalalala

I am SO sick of lean cuisine and trader Joe's meals.

Anyone have any creative ideas of cheap meals to bring to work? The more filling the better, Im usually FAMISHED by 2:30!

Also, any good recipes of stuff you can make in bulk on weekends that heats up well in the microwave for lunch?

slim fast - about $1 each at Target

turkey with 2% cheese- 6 slices of turkey and 2 pcs of cheese is 160 calories and no carbs

I make 2 roll ups- very cheap and very good!

I am bumping this because Im definitely need to get on the eating healthy bandwagon again and all the healthy lunches I have leave me starving at 2.

Any new ideas?

I like to graze, so I bring lots of little snacks - veggies and hummos, an apple, a yogurt, some almonds, things like that....

I have to get better about this now that I am PG - the morning sickness and food aversions were so horrific I hate looking and thinking about food now.... yes, sometimes when you are PG you have to force yourself to eat (or DH will force you!)

I need variety!

Let's see this week at work:

*Peanut butter on a banana
*Spinach salad with mandarin oranges, tomatoes, red onion and grilled chicken for lunch
*Raw almonds
*Low Fat Vanilla yogurt with frozen berries and cottage cheese
*Leftover meatloaf on whole wheat
*Turkey and swiss on a wrap with avocado & balsamic vinegar
*Apple and string cheese
*Slices of cheddar with grapes
*frozen vegetarian burrito
*hard boiled egg and instant oatmeal
*homemade trail mix
*Salmon salad with lemon and onion.

I eat a lot... breakfast at home - 2 snacks and lunch at work - dinner at home.
