Spinoff thread: Your opinion on cheating!

Reading the thread on the Z100 story, I was curious:

1. Where is the line drawn on what's cheating? Flirting? Kissing? Sex?

2. Do believe once somebody cheats, they're very likely to do it again?

3. If you found out that your FH cheated on a past GF, would that give you doubts about his character?

4. Have you ever cheated in your life?

I have some definite opinions on this, but I'll reserve them for now.

Answers to your questions:

1. Flirting
2. Yes and no. It depends on when in their life they cheated. If it was when they were in their teens then later in life I don't think they will be MORE likely to cheat.
3. No. Again it depends on which gf he cheated on.
4. Yes ETA not on FH and when I was like in High School.

I just reread this and I sounded aweful oops!

Re: Spinoff thread: Your opinion on cheating!

I do not consider flirting cheating, although I do not expect my FH to flirt .. .and if he does, i would not want him to do it in front of me - or I would leave him.

Cheating starts at kissing - once a kiss, its cheating.

I do believe that once a person cheats, that they are likely to do it again

If you found out that your FH cheated on a past GF, would that give you doubts about his character? YES! definately would make me re-consider. If it was so easy to do that now, why wouldnt he do it again later??

I hve never cheated before.

Re: Spinoff thread: Your opinion on cheating!

I met FH while I was living with my ex-bf- but my relationship was horrendous and my ex-bf would not let me out of the relationship. I tried many many times to break up with him and while I am not going in to major details, my ex threated suicide multiple times if I ended the the relationship. I felt getting a new BF was the ONLY way out.

I would not cheat on FH, and never cheated before this situation, but I felt that FH was worth me breaking up my last relationship. I would NOT cheat on FH, do not condone cheating and would not tolerate if FH cheated on me. I consider cheating anything beyond flirting.

1. flirting. i mean, there's eating up attention and then there's flirting. and yes, i think a guy and a girl can be friends and it not be 'sexual'...but there should not be flirting if either party is i na relationship.

2. yes.

3. very possibly, but he'd have to show me i could trust him...but it would be very hard for him.

4. NOOO....well, i drive too fast, does that count?

1. I think everyone does a little meaningless flirting but if it's continuos flirting then yes. Kissing and sex definately.

2. Yes and no. People do grow up and what I did 5-10 years ago doesn't mean I'd do it now.

3. FH has cheated (kissed) on someone he was 'hanging' out with - not really the GF status yet. It did give me some doubts at the beginning because I look down on that because my parents are divorced because of it. This happened a very long time ago though and I don't even think about it anymore.

4. NO

1. Where is the line drawn on what's cheating? Flirting? Depends but I would NOT be happy Kissing? Hell yeah Sex? Definately

2. Do believe once somebody cheats, they're very likely to do it again? No

3. If you found out that your FH cheated on a past GF, would that give you doubts about his character? no

4. Have you ever cheated in your life? Yes, I did when I was dating, (ETA - not on my husband) however I take my marriage vows seriously. I was young then. I would absolutely NEVER cheat on my husband, never ever!

Ditto... except for 2... my past experience has been that yes... once they cheat they always cheat. I dated someone for 8 years, he cheated on me more than once, twice...etc, cheated on his next girlfriend, got married and while was engaged cheated on his fiance, and after he got married cheated on his wife. I know for a fact he was doing all this because he would tell me!!!! He also tried to get me in bed after he was married as well!

1. Where is the line drawn on what's cheating? I think kissing is the worst. It's very intimate and involves feeling and a thought process.

2. Do believe once somebody cheats, they're very likely to do it again? It depends if they were caught out there doing it. If someone cheats and they get away with it I think they will.

3. If you found out that your FH cheated on a past GF, would that give you doubts about his character? Not necessarily. It depends on the situation and timeframe of his life.

4. Have you ever cheated in your life? No. My ex Husband cheated on me numerous times and I would never want to make anyone feel as worthless as I once did.

1. Kissing

2. It depends, I mean someone who may have cheated when they were 16 years old is very different from an adult who cheated. If the person cheated at a much older age than yes, I believe once a cheat always a cheat because at that point they know it's just wrong.

3. No, not at all because every relationship is different.

4. Yes, when I was much younger.

Re: Spinoff thread: Your opinion on cheating!

1. A good rule of thumb: Any behavior that is done that would not be done if your significant other was standing right next to you is inappropriate. As long as you would be OK with your FH seeing whatever you are doing then it's OK. Anything that you would not want him to see is not right and disrespectful to him obviously or else it would be OK if he witnessed it.

2. Yes I do believe that once someone cheats, the first time, is the stage where they are taking the most 'risk' (IE: losing the person they are with, getting caught, etc). and if that does not happen-- meaning they do not get caught OR they do get caught but the person stays with them-- it's like saying that there were no consequences to the behavior so they are more likely, psychologically, to do it again because they have learned that the 'risks' are not that much. If it is cheating from one person to the next: it may be different. For example if someone cheats on Sally and Sally dumps him, will be be more likely to cheat on a totally different girl? Maybe, maybe not... that depends on the situation I think.

3. I think I would be curious as to WHY he would have ever had the need to do that. I don't understand cheating. If you are not happy, you leave. It's that simple. So it would make me wonder and I would definitely want to question that behavior.

4. Cheating is a relative term-- J/K of course not! lol

1. flirting...but i better not catch him doing it
2. really young in life, no but after like 25 when you've had time to sow your wild oats, once a cheater always a cheater.
3. no. i know he's cheated on his ex but it was a horrible, turbulent relationship
4. yes, when i was 19 but i would never do it again. i can still see the look on my ex's face when he found out. lesson learned.

Re: Spinoff thread: Your opinion on cheating!

1. I think it's natural for people to flirt to an extent and not even realize it, so i'd have to say kissing.

2. It depends on the circumstnaces and age.

3. I would like to find out when why and what occured during the cheating.

4. Yes - in 10th grade, my BF cheated on me with 3 different girls when I found out I hooked up with one of his firends to get even. It was stupid but I at the time I thought it might make me feel better. But it didn't.

1. Kissing is where I draw the line. Everyone flirts in some way.

2. No. People cheat when they are unhappy in the relationship. Once you're happy with your significant other you probably won't cheat.

3. It depends on how long ago he cheated and who he cheated on.

4. Yes I have cheated in the past BUT NEVER ON FH.
