Spinoff to Bluegreen's post, response cards

Original post by yelley77

I was thinking about this the other day, what if both parents contributed some money and we are paying for a majority of it ourselves?

Well, I just wanted to check to see if there was a right or wrong way to do it. I thought there was so much more etiquette when it cam to invites... Maybe I'm just thinking old school.

some of the things i understand, such as Mr or Ms, some get mad if you don't do that. Its annoying but yeah there is alot of invitation etiquette, but to be honest i dont remember seeing much of this so not sure if they say its proper or not for rsvp cards to go to the person hosting, but then again ppl now put their parents names on the card regardless if the parents are paying for the wedding or not.

That is true. Even if our parents weren't contributing, I'd put them on the invite. PERSONALLY, I think it is respectful. But to each their own.

i feel the exact same way, it is respectful...even if they dont pay for the wedding hey they raised us and already have done more than enough.

i am putting both sets of parents names on our invites.. but the response cards are going to come to my house.

me and FH do not live together, but for anything wedding related we have been using my address so everything stays in one place.

i did agree to wait until he was with me to open any response cards that come. however when the day gets closer i might not be so willing to wait.

Both FH and I have tiny mailboxes at apartments....so the reponse cards will go to my parents, who have a nice, big mailbox Both sets of parents names will be on the invite, but as they live 5 mins apart and talk all the time, and my parents are really the central planning hub, they get the rsvps!
