Spinoff to Christine's Spinoff- does who's paying for your wedding

Original post by JessicaM.

factor in to how much you are spending on your BP?

I an say that if I was not paying for everything, I would definitely be more generous with their gifts. Luckily our BP knows the financial burden paying for this wedding is for us, so whatever we give them will be fine.

...I'm not a big fan of the Stepford Wives look anyway!!

PRECISELY MY POINT!!! That is why my friends are wearing different dresses (same color and fabric) and different shoes. If anyone ever made me wear 3 inch heels. Id find a brand new place for a SHOE!

The girls are wearing different dresses as well, I agree that having them wear the same jewelry/hair defeats the purpose. I told them to wear their hair/makeup however they wanted, to pick the gown the liked most, etc. I wanted them to be 'them' and comfortable. Plus jewelry is difficult, as everyone has different tastes, I would be afraid to get the something like that. I figured to buy them gifts of things that I know they love to do, or have interests in.

I'm totally rambling now, aren't I? LOL Sorry!

Edited for spelling!

I'd like to be as generous as possible and as practical as possible. I personally do not see the point in buying a gift that will be used on the day of the wedding like jewelry or hair. IMO, it becomes more of a gift for the bride to show uniformity in her pictures and not a gift of appreciation/friendship.

I completely agree...unless the jewelry can be warn again (I happened to get a nice pair of earrings from SIL).

I am VERY particular about the jewelry I like to wear. I have gotten jewelry as gifts and wore it only when I saw that person and never again. Its like taking out that ugly vase that someone did not buy from your registry when they come over for a holiday meal. You just have to do it.

It's a small BP and my parents are paying for most..so sure, they'll get something nice.
