My mom gave me the garter she wore at her wedding. This is definitely something we want to keep. Should we do a garter toss? Toss an inexpensive garter instead? Or ask for the garter back? I don't know if the one who catches it normally keeps it or not.
I'm sure you can ask for it back, but if you don't want to risk it, I would throw an inexpensive one. A coworker of mine wore two garters one was her moms and one was a throwaway. She wore one on each leg and they tossed the inexpensive one.
