Spinoff to Gifts from those not attending...

are gifts usually expected WITH the decline response????

I've had a few no responses. 20guest, or about 11 or 12 cards, have been sent back with 'decline' but none of them have had any gift...

i dont want to jump to conclusions that none of them are sending us something, if normally it comes later...

what is standard? if you've done this, did you send a gift w/the RSVP? or later?

i just find it odd cuz i kno my mom sends a check w/the RSVP...or sends a card w/acheck at the same time as the RSVP

I have never heard of anyone sending a gift with an rsvp i wouldnt worry at all I'm not sure of the exact propper timeline but it's even normaL to revieve gifts after your wedding date

I always send it either right before the wedding or right after.

ohhhh ok!

im really clueless to this, cuz ive only been to a handful of weddings as it is, never RSVPd no, and the one that i know of that my parents didnt go to is the only example i have!!!

I've sent my RSVP separate from a gift if I wasn't able to attend the wedding.

I would send them separate, and I hope that's the case with most, because we haven't gotten any gifts with our no rsvp's yet

btw, your people are awesome!!! u have SO MANY RSVPS!!!!!! already, and ur wedding is 2 weeks after mine...

when did u send ur invites out?

I sent the A-list invites on March 5, and the B-list invites on April 2. They have just under a month to respond now, due date is May 5.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok!!

i sent my invites out on March 15!!!

gave them a month and a week total for responses...9 weeks before the wedding

I only received one response with a check, everyone one else who said no didnt send anything

ETA: I just received some gifts in the mail today, off my registry from a couple that is not attending our wedding

we got about 4 responses with checks. one or two others sent gifts after replying. a handful of people who aren't coming did not send gifts, as of now.

Etiquette states that a wedding gift should NEVER be expected. That being said I only recieved a couple of gifts with responses.

When i have not gone to a wedding i sent my gift closer to the wedding, after and separate from the response.

We actually received a check with a response yesterday tho.

i haven't received anyyy checks with my responses or gifts from 'no' guests yet and i have 29 no's already!

We received both and were pleasantly surprised! I didn't expect any gifts with any no responses.

We've received three Nos with generous gifts inside a card...the rsvp actually within a day or two after the card.

we didn't receive any gifts with the no responses, they were sent separately, but not everyone that responded no sent a gift-just DH's family members or close friends

we didnt get many no's .. only 3 or 4.. no1 sent a gift with the rsvp.. just 1. and it was super generous.

when i respond NO, i send a card with a check seperately
