I chose Floral Terrace b/c there is only 1 wedding there, it is an old theatre and the dance floor is raised I love that.

Also, I didn't want it at one of those popular places that people have been to 5 weddings at. I think only a handful of my guests have ever been there and I am excited for them to experience it

Ever since i was younger I wanted to get married at Russo's.... but when the time finally came, i said that i wanted to do something different and FH was upset b/c his dream too was to get married at Russo's..... well after looking at so many different halls, we went to a Bridal Expo at Russo's and I looked at FH and said.... we should both go with our dream..... and sure enough our dream is coming true!!!!!

I had been to my big sisters (sorority) wedding at CLM like 7 years ago and when I got engaged that was the one place I didn't want to book just because I wanted my 'own' place where i hadn't been to before (went to alot of formals in college all over LI)! But I saw some pics from it on LIW and decided to look at it.

I love love the fact that it's on the water, the food is amazing and it has a cozy feel to it. FH and I both love the water too so it just made sense. I'm so excited about it!!!!!!!!!

We chose thatched cottage because we wanted to be on the water, and be the only wedding there . It was actually the first place we looked at (well second, but we never even considered the first), and we loved it, saw about 10 more, and went back for a tasting, and loved it even more. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The tasting was amazing. They left us alone on the gazebo with a ton of delicious food and a bottle of champagne. I liked that they gave us time to ourselves to enjoy the grounds. The real selling point is that they have a beautiful chapel that overlooks the water and grounds in case of rain. Some of the places we looked out had beautiful grounds, but if it rained you were put on the dance floor, or in a room which had absolutely no waterview. So, there we made our choice! It was soooo hard, because there are so many beautiful places out there!

Its on the water...there's no marble...there are no mirrors....it has wooden floors....and it isn't on a main highway/road.

We loved the outside ceremony area and cocktail hour...

FMIL told us they were redoing it and joined with another owner. We already knew the food was amazing, that personal, restaurant food, NOT the run-of-the-mill catering food. We promised FMIL we'd go to one place she wanted us to and went that night after our RH. After the tour, meeting the managers and seeing the plans we were floored by the elegance and uniqueness of our RH. The MOST important thing to us was a 1 wedding at a time place.....that was the first priority.

After leaving we knew that was our place....we went to the other place FMIL wanted us to check and there was NO comparison...there wasn't ONE thing at that other place that topped our place....the choice was easy...we went with our hearts and the best choice!

We chose the Royalton because we loved how it was one wedding at a time and how homey it felt...we totally clicked with the manager and really loved how no one we know had gone there or have even heard of it.... after growing up here you go to so many places you really rule them out from the get go... we loved jericho terrace but i had my prom there, so it was pretty clear to go with Royalton!

uh-oh FH just yelled at me for being on here too long! lol

From the minute I got engaged everyone we talked to was only mentioning to look at the Watermill and I had never before even heard of it. I wanted a spring wedding and all the other 4 places I went did not have a day in the month of May. They had 3 weekends in May open !!. Besides that and the place is gorgeous. I hear the food is great as well. It was a no brainer for us.

I loved it as soon as I walked in. It's extremely beautiful without being over whelming. And wwe are having the best of both-outdoors for the ceremony & cocktail hour and indoors for the reception! Everyone will be comfortable.

I hate when places have huge gawdy chandelieres and stuff like that and the person showing you around the place keeps pointing them out. Hello! They're huge I've noticed them lets talk about the menus please!

There are so many things about Russo's that made FH and I choose it:

1. Location- we have many OOT guests and the airport isn't far. Also I live in the Rockaways so its not far for me or FH either.

2. The atmosphere- I just love the decor, also the way the rooms are and also the really cool idea of coming up through the dance floor as the DJ announces us.

3. It's very reasonably priced.. also a ton of food.

4. The food is just AWESOME!

5. The people are wonderful to work with. They're flexable and make it so easy to deal with stuff.

6. As a kid growing up in the Rockaways you always heard about Russo's on the Bay- it made me dream about getting married there - In High School I always wanted to go to an event at Russo's - but it never happened unfortunately- when we had our High School 10 year reunion we looked at having it at Russo's but it just was too much money at the time- that kinda disappointed me but now that I am getting married there I'm so happy!!

We chose Timber Point for a variety of reasons. It is close to home, they gave us a low minimum and the price was reasonable in comparison to many other places, plus Lessings has an excellent reputation. We like the cozy, intimate, homey feeling we get when we walk inside. And, it was way back in 96 at my junior banquet when FH and I first met there!

We chose Bridgeview after looking at about 7 others. Here's why:
1) I walked in, looked around and texted FH that the place was F-in Beautiful and that he had to get down there ASAP.
2) I pictured myself there in my dress (which I couldn't seem to do elsewhere)
3) I live in Long Beach and want my guests to get a little feel of our beach lifestyle (even if it is winter)
4) It just doesnt feel like a wedding hall to me (or a club thank god)
Sometimes you just feel it is right and decide for that reason alone.

we picked CLM cause steve and i Go crabbing off the dock and always thoguht it was so pretty and liked it was on the water...then my friend had her wedding there last year and we loved everything about it, the food the look the people! We really loved that you are brought to the CH on a boat!!! its so cool!!! i love it so much!!

We chose the Bourne Mansion because we wanted a venue that only had 1 event per day, we wanted a unique venue that was different than anything we'd previously attended and our jaws dropped when we walked in!

I really had my heart set on a place that had a garden...The minute we stepped outside I was just wowed. Even on a rainy gloomy day in january it still loked beautiful. It was the only place I looked at that just seemed perect!

I chose George Washington Manor b/c it's a very intimate room, and I don't know too many brides that get married there. FH liked it b/c it has history.

MY sister got married there and it was the best wedding i have ever been too. My cousin also. But the food is amazing.

We picked 3 West Club because:
1) it was in Manhattan
2) we love the roof terrace and solarium
3) we love the architecture
4) we love the history of it
5) it hosts one wedding at a time
6) we love the balcony over the dance floor, great for pictures
7) we love the food, met the chef, he has a solution for everyone's food allergies

Though I'm Italian, I was longing for a non-Italian looking RH. I didn't want marble and crystal chandeliers, etc. I wanted something very wooden looking. I loved the Riviera. I fell in love with the floor and the Chalet look. I didn't even want to look at other RHs.
