so, I think I might start to make some photog appointments while we're home for the holidays. Just a few questions for you girls.
how many photogs did you see before you made your decision? how long do the appointments last approximately? why did you ultimately pick the photog you booked with?

Re: spinoff to QOTD
I went to one and booked on the spot. I loved their work when I was looking and we negotiated them down about 500 bucks. We were there for about 45 mins to an hour.

thanks Jessie! I know we're starting early (and most ppl think i'm nuts haha), but I just don't know how often we'll be home in the coming months. FH's school schedule looks pretty rough for next semester.

I don't think it's that early! I know I'm earlier in the year than you, but as of this past August, my photog company already had 2 other weddings booked on our day, us being their 3rd.

Re: spinoff to QOTD
We met with a total of 3 photographers and booked with the third one. We just hit it off with him, personality-wise, which is important because you really do spend all day with your photographer (especially for the bride). And we loved his work. It was exactly the blend of traditional and photojournalistic that we were looking for.

We have seen about 5-6 already...I had to take a break
I want to get photos that do not look like everyone else's...thought I found it until I saw pictures from different people and they all started to look the same

Re: spinoff to QOTD
We went to about 5 or 6 each appointment took between 30 min and 1 hour. We picked the one we did because we connected with the photog, loved his work and he offered services that other places didn't or charged extra for.

Re: spinoff to QOTD
We only went to meet with one photographer. I did extensive research online and fell in love with Imagine Studio's style so I already knew I wanted to book with them before the appointment. When we went we really clicked with Lia and she was so sweet so we knew we were making the right decision. It's important to feel comfortable with your photographer because they will be with you all day on one of the most important days of your life!! Our appointment was about an hour I think.
I booked Imagine Studios because I love photojournalistic style photography. I love how she mixes in some traditional photos (family shots) as well. I also love how the photos have a very soft and romantic feel to them (not really modern like other photographers). Also, I really like how Imagine is a small company.
What photographers are you interested in?

I know what you mean - like the photographers have 'signature' poses or whatever and they do them with every wedding. So one time they look cool, then you see the same thing in like 5 weddings and you're like enough already!!!!!

thanks Alicia - I LOVE Imagine - they are DEFINITELY on my list!!!! I like soooo many others I can't even remember them all the time haha so far my list is...
imagine f i n e a r t duet love more photo thomas paul velvet studios deja vu - I met someone at a showcase that said they'd be really good to look into, so I dunno...
hopefully FH can help me narrow them down bc I don't know if I want to go on 7 appointments, but I guess that is the benefit of having time on our side. Thanks girls for making me feel better about starting early! You're the only ones that understand! <3

Re: spinoff to QOTD
most apps lasted 45 mins to 1 hr.
I met with 7.
Although over my budget, the work of my photographer wasn't comparable to the others I went to see. I just felt it was so much better, and worth the extra money.

We only met with one, Duet. We booked them right on the spot. I loved their work so I already knew I wanted them. The session lasted about an hour.
