spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
if you were going to a wedding and you knew the bp was wearing a particular color, would you wear the same color? aside from black of course.

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
No. That's why I always where a black dress to weddings or navy blue. I don't want to blend in with the wedding party.

Not me.. I always try to find out what color the BP is wearing. I try to stay far far away from that color.

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
I wouldn't, i can tell sometimes by the invites. But my dresses that I wear to weddigns dont look like BM dresses, so I dont think it would matter.

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
I usually wear black so I don't bother checking the BP's color. Or I wear what looks 'good' on me. Most of the time, I don't even know what the BP color is.

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
I try to find out what they are wearing and try not to wear the color they are wearing. It's hard when they choose a color like black, but I try to do my best not to wear that color.

I don't search for that information b/c I honestly don't think it's a big deal to wear the same color the BP is wearing. So to answer your question, I would wear the same color - but it wouldn't be BECAUSE they're wearing it...it would BECAUSE it's the dress I have.

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
No, I want the BP to stand out so I wouldn't wear the same color. Tho it's tough when they're wearing black. You can get an idea of the color scheme from the invitation so I take it from there!

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
If I know what color the BP is wearing then I won't wear it. For example, headed to a wedding this month. I know the BP is wearing red. I have a red dress that would look nice, but will in all likelihood wear purple b/c I know BP is wearing red.

that was kind of my point...not that we need to go out of our way, but if we knew b/c our sister or mother was in the bp.....

I wear whatever I want as long as it is not white. I never really even think the BP is wearing.

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
question.... if as a guest we shouldn't wear the same color as the bridal party than is it ok as the MOG or any other honored guest to wear the same color as the bridal party? where does it end! LOL I guess it REALLY doesn't matter, right?

Re: spinoff to telling guests what they can wear
I almost always wear a black dress because it's generally pretty safe...I did go to a day wedding once and tried to find out what color the BMs were wearing so I wouldn't unintentionally match them...The bride was weird about telling people her colors, so I just wore a blue dress and figured she'd have to deal with it if I was matching...The BMs wore purple, so I was ok...Welcome New Vendors
