This thread should not have been posted in the first place. That girl was clearly, clearly not a real bride. It was soooo obvious. Some girls just sense these things.
Plain and simple, it was a post directed toward Denise. People wanted to know what happened. It had to do with something personal. A lot of us got a good laugh out of it. Anyone who doesnt like the topic doesnt have to post, blahzee blahzay blah blah blah. Its over, Im done. Denise is awesome, im awesome, were all awesome. We love newbies and everyone and God bless us all. the end.

Yes it should have been posted.
Regardless of whether or not someone 'senses' something doesn't mean it's an actual fact, nor does it make it ok for us to pass a judgement on someone else. That's for the board administrators to decide, not us. I think ganging up on someone who is new on here and just wants to be a part of a community isn't right. We've all seen a few REAL brides on here who have been chased out of here because of this happening (example - what Jenn mentioned a few posts up).
In the Denise instance - yes, what happened to her was a different story. Someone was actually being hurt by what was going on.
i think that the 'Denise' thread just jogged Kim's mind about the new culture (on here) of calling out new brides all the time. It wasn't directed at Denise nor was it saying that she was calling out someone for the he!l of it.

And Denise, you're not really bringing it onto the boards too much.
OK, great, we all know just from ONE post that someone is an EAL... how the helll can you figure that out... if it's a special power, clue a girl in!
I just find it odd that calling out newbies as fakes is exclusive to this board... ya dont see any other boards doing it....

Thats the kind of thing that makes me really mad.
But who are WE to decide who is real and who isn't? It's not fair that someone like Randi is afraid that us (the 08ers) are going to shun her and make her feel like she's not a real bride...![]()
My problem is that I really love the girls who I think are kind of policing the boards (seriously, I really do - you guys crack me up) - but at the same time I get really frustrated and think it isn't fair to some of the new girls on here (like Randi - sorry to be using you as an example, but I feel bad that you're concerned about changing your info on here!).
I mean, all we can go on are assumptions about other people. We don't actually know who these people are or what their situation is. I remember one girl on here made a huge mess of the boards, but I really think she just didn't know how to communicate with everyone. I don't necessarily think she was a lurker or someone coming on here to cause harm to anyone I just don't think she could get her points across the right way (things can be interpreted so many different ways on here).
These boards are filled with people with tons of different personalities. I remember when I started posting on here I was really nervous and uncomfortable. I probably made some dumbass comments and made enemies on day one...but I can't IMAGINE how I would have felt if I was 'welcomed' by people calling me out as a fake bride.
Try to remember how you felt after getting engaged. You were excited and wanted to share with the world and you joined LIW to make a network of friends who could support you. So to have someone come out (who doesn't know you at all) and say that you aren't 'real?' And then 15 other people jump in and bully you?
I'm not saying that there havent been fake brides. Sure - there have been. But all I'm saying is that for those of you who were here during the Karen thing, remeber that she was sabatoging her OWN wedding so that people on here would pay attention to her. All she wanted was attention. No malice. Just attention.
So I guess I just needed to get it out there and let people know that it's ok to come on here and post.
Just because you have only 10 posts on here and start talking negatively about a vendor doesn't mean you're fake. Just because you're indecisive about booking a hall and change your mind a few times doesn't mean you're fake. And no one has the right on here to come out and say you are. You're as welcome on these boards as anyone else. So post away and don't feel uncomfortable doing so.

it's been going on for a while now. since karen.
it's carrying over onto the BHB board too. the one bride who was happy with her photographer Dan Wagner..... guess what - a whole tribe of 08ers were like FAKE, FAKE, FAKE when she was just really excited about her photos. if someone knows what I'm talking about, please link it...
frigging Ron had to come on and be like, no, girls, she's real.
it's just ridiculous.
