Spinoff to Tux question on BHB

So FH wants to do designer suits instead of tuxes for the wedding which all the GMs agreed to. They haven't gone shopping yet or anything.

As far as the dads go, I know they wouldn't have a problem with suits as well, BUT I know that FFIL had purchased a brand new tux for FBIL/FSIL's wedding this past May and I know that he is planning on wearing it at ours (which is totally understandable - he paid the money for it and he wants to get use out of it).

My questions:

1) Should my dad also get a tux to match FFIL or is it ok for my dad to wear a suit?

2) Will it look weird that FH and the BMs are wearing suits but the dads are wearing tuxes?

I think it will look a little off with the dads wearing a tux and the other guys in a suit. You also dont want the dads looking fancier than the groom. The other guys including the dads are suppose to take their cue from the groom. So if he wears a suit everyone should and if he wears a tux everyone should.
