my mom felt funny walking me down cuz thats a 'mans job' but she had to hear it from other ppl that it was 'acceptable'
uhmmm talk about AWKWARD SITUATION? ffil was over and it was 1 of his awesome days.. and he said ' well ur my daughter now etc etc' then liek 30 in go by.. and wedding came up.. and hes like so who is walking u down the aisle? can i do it?

I don't think it's weird. It's actually kinda nice on his end. However if it were me, depending on the relationship I wouldn't want him to talk me down.
Do you have a uncle,godfather, or cousin who could do it? My uncle and great uncle are walking me down.

Awww I think that's really sweet!! I don't know if you're very traditional, but I feel like it would go against tradition to have him walk you down the aisle. I feel like it should be a member of your family since they are giving you away. JMO!

i think its nice that he offered...but you coudl just say you appreciate the offer but you will have ur mom walk you down the aisle bc it would mean alot since ur dad can't be there.

i do not think its weird at all. i think its very sweet of him to offer.
your answer should really depend on the relationship you have with him. you may want to consider asking an uncle or grandfather first if that's any option.

That is really wonderful that you have a FFIL that thinks so much of you, that he considers you his daughter and would like to give your away.
IMO, think it is kinda wierd because basically, he is giving you to his son, kinda not what the whole situation is supposed to represent.
I get your mom, being traditional, probably thinks a man should do it, that is why I think it should be your brother.
If you dont want to hurt your FFIL feelings, tell him your brother asked if he could give you away in your dads place.
Again, just my opinion..

Oh, ok...then tell him the truth, that you would love him to do it,but he cant 'give you away' to his own son..it's wierd.
