my mom felt funny walking me down cuz thats a 'mans job' but she had to hear it from other ppl that it was 'acceptable'
uhmmm talk about AWKWARD SITUATION? ffil was over and it was 1 of his awesome days.. and he said ' well ur my daughter now etc etc' then liek 30 in go by.. and wedding came up.. and hes like so who is walking u down the aisle? can i do it?

I had the same dilema (my Dad last year). I asked my Uncle, I was gonna ask FFIL but I felt that it was the right thing to do to ask my Uncle. If I did not have an Uncle, it would of been my boss (he knows me a very long time and is like a Father figure).

that was really nice for him to offer.. I would thank him but probably respectfully decline and say that you had your mom/ or bother in mind to walk yu down.

I think it was very sweet. It must have been awkward for him to ask...but very sweet. As for what to say... let him know you already settled it with your mom and with your dad gone, its something that means a lot to you.
