SPINOFF (wedding budget) Do you include HM in Wedding budget?

FH and I was talking and he starts freaking out b/c our budget is blown by like $2-3,000. So I am trying to explain to him that we aren't including the HM in our 'wedding budget'.

Like, if you are spending $20,000 on a wedding and your HM is $7000, do you say you are spending $27,000 on your wedding? I separate it our Wedding and then HM.

I know the HM is affiliated with the Wedding, but I don't consider it a wedding expense like RH, flowers, Photo, etc. IDK

What do you think?

I guess it really doesn't matter b/c either way you look at it- you are spending $27,000, or whatever...wow, I need ...lol

we're doing a honeymoon registry-- so hopefully some of our guests will help us pay for the HM....so its not really inc. in my budget

wait do ppl pay off your honeymoon with the registry...I heard it was them buying services that will be at your HM, such as a massage, dinner at a restaurant and things like that.

wait do ppl pay off your honeymoon with the registry...I heard it was them buying services that will be at your HM, such as a massage, dinner at a restaurant and things like that.

most of the time the HM registry shows things listed like 'pay for our Dinner at Margaritvaville' and such---but in reality it just is ppl giving money towards your HM.....you can list it in categories and everything--but in the end you are just geting the cash they give you and can use it on whatever you want!

i thought of doing a HM registry, but figured most of my family is computer illiterate and wouldn't know how to get on there

We seperated the two because FH’s family wants to pay for a large chunk of it, and we’re also going to have a honeymoon registry.

They can pay toward the honeymoon and upgrades.
You get a list of options in the HM registry.

So in the end most of HM is covered.

We are including our Honeymoon in our wedding budget. It just prevents surprises. Also do not forget to allocate like 2,000 for tips and incidentals, it is amazing that you have to tip so much when you are paying so much.

yes- ours is w/ Lierty travel and people either paid onto our account or bought gc's for us to put towards the HM. No services. I have heard of the services idea, but ours is just an accont.

We are not including the honeymoon in our budget. We're going to take most of the gifts we get at the wedding and put it towards the hm and then save for 6 months beforfe we go on our honeymoon to Europe!!

Right after the wedding - we're not doing anything until Groundhog's Day. We're spending that weekend in Punxtawney - to do the whole shebang!! YAY!!!!!

same here ..we are pretty much gonna wait and book after the wedding. We are gonna spend our wedding night in a hotel..and maybe stay there an extra day or 2 just to have a break from all the wedding stuff. We'll def. be putting gifts from the wedding towards the HM cause as of right now there is just no more room in the budget... so we kind of have no choice... but it will give us extra time to save. right now any money we make is going towards the wedding.. after we can totally focus on the HM and do something we really want to do..not just what we can afford at the moment ( which would pretty much be a night at a holiday in someplace in long island..lmaoo)
