I don't think I could do this. Violence begats violence. Also many parnets hit their childen out of anger..and even if that's nt WHY you're hitting them, often when you spank children you WILL be angry, and they'll associate that and hit people when they are angry..that's my take

once in a blue moon a spank on the butt isnt going to do any real harm... of course not beating a child or hitting repeatedly....
my lil sister laughs if they give her a quick spank on her butt ..... shes just like i was at her age.... alittle wiseazz.

Okay, I understand what you all are saying - and I'm certainly not saying that I've been given the most well behaved child- I was a single mom for most of his 6 years, so I can honestly say that - I have been at my wits end, terrible two's? Oh my, BUT - time outs worked for me (still do) if there is no talking and the child is carrying on, he has to go to his room until he's ready to be civilized. I think it depends on the parents -and I might get bashed for this, but - you have to have patience to raise a child - if you don't have patience than neither will your child.
