I know there are a few sports fans on this site....if interested, please visit www.wnba.com to sign the following petition.

Thanks!

The legislation that started it all for girls and women in sports faces a potential threat from proposed recommendations to change current enforcement policies. Although women at Division I colleges still only receive 36% of overall athletic operating budgets despite comprising 53% of the student body, a Department of Education Commission has recommended changes to Title IX that could weaken enforcement of the law. The WNBA has endorsed the Commission minority report, issued by dissenting Commissioners Donna de Varona and Julie Foudy, which urges the Department not to rollback the gains women's sports have made over the past thirty years through the enforcement of Title IX.
Whether you are a women's sports fan, a proud relative of a female athlete, or a player yourself, Title IX needs your help now, before the Department of Education makes its final ruling on possible changes in the enforcement of Title IX. You can add your voice in support of Title IX by signing the petition below. Once we have collected all the names and addresses, we will forward the petition to President George W. Bush and Secretary of Education Roderick Paige to demonstrate the support of the WNBA and its fans for equal opportunities for girls and women in sports.

Join the WNBA. Fight for Title IX!
