square or rectangle invitations?

square or rectangle invitations?

What is your opinion? Are square invites worth the extra postage? I like them, but not sure if I want to spend the extra money.

Thanks

If you think you can live w/o it and would rather spend the $$ elsewhere - then don't do the square invites. - People throw the invitation away ! Spend that extra $$ on YOU !!

I agree, after the wedding invitations end up in the trash. Spend the extra $ elsewhere.

but a lot of invitations when you put the response cardinand directions weigh over an ounce - so it is common that the square and the rectangle cost the same - get what you want

To me it was more about the weight of the paper. It seems like companies have really cut back on the quality of the paper. I ordered a square sample from Rexcraft and it was a bit on the flimsy side.

I do agree though. Spend your money elsewhere. Only you and the moms will remember the invitation. Spend the extra money on something that will last.

Any invitation printed on heavy paper will be over the 37 cent limit anyway, so there should be no difference in cost.

Even if it werent, the price difference is something 12 cents each. Its not enough money to make it worth deciding based on price.

Just decide based on what looks better to you.

IMO I would spend your money else where...unless of course square is what you really want...the difference in postage is not going to be alot if any

I agree.

This was mine (rectangle) and it was more then .37 cents, because it was thicker paper.

I chose my invitation because I loved it, not because it was or wasn't square. Go wiith what you love!

(Mine DID end up being a square, though)

Thanks so much for the info. It makes sense that with all the extra stuff and the heavy paper I will have to pay extra anyway!

You girls always have the answers!

I feel like I am in the minority here, I prefer rectangle invites over square. To me square remind me too much of Bar/Bat Mitzvah invitations, but that's just IMO.

I also did not want flimsy invitations. Paying extra for a heavier card stock was worth it to me because I feel like an invitation is your guests first impression of the wedding.

I agree that you should pick the invites you like the best. With all the xtra stuff they will def weigh more than .37 anyway.
But, IMO square invites connote a less formal affair.

I like the square invitations and I dont think they will be too much more to mail them.
