St Patrick's Parish of Bay Shore question

I know that St.Pat's parish won't allow flower petals or seeds to be thrown but does anyone know if they'll allow an aisle runner? I heard they don't but my mother swears she saw one at the last wedding she went to there...

Another question -- does anyone know if shoulders must be covered during the ceremony? We're meeting with the priest in a few weeks but I just know I'll forget to ask (again)

TIA!

I dont know the rules for St. Pat's but I have never heard of a 'shoulders covered' rule.......

never heard of that in a Catholic Church........

I heard or read that somewhere -- but I was doing a search and I saw some pics of a bride that married there last year and she's wearing a strapless gown with no shawl or covering -- one less thing to worry about :D

Thanks!

Hello...I am getting married there too...I asked about the aisle runner and they said no....new policy as of November 2006 they told me. They don't want anyone, esp. the bride to trip. So sorry....no aisle runner. They used to allow them.
I have been to many weddings there and all the brides had sleeveless or strapless dresses. I don;t believe they have to shoulders covered rule.

ohhh
Maybe someone tripped and they sued?
That really stinks -- I was planning on handpainting my monogram on the runner...
Oh well
Thanks!

Me too...I think you are right, one too many people fell and I guess that is all it takes.
