St. Thomas or Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)

Where would you rather go?

DH and I did not take our honeymoon yet because I am a teacher and we decided to wait for the winter break. Originally we wanted to go to the South Pacific, but the timing is just not right so we will wait and go another time. We still want to go somewhere for the Christmas break.

The only two package avaiable are St.Thomas (all inclusive package) and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (also an all inclusive package).

Which is better ????

I am going to Secrets in Punta Cana in February for 12 days and have heard great things about it. I know 3 people that have gone there and loved it.

I've been to St. Thomas and honestly...outside of the resort, I did not like the island at all. I have never been to DR.

I went to Punta Cana 2 years ago, and it was beautiful
I went to St. Thomas, but that was a day trip from our cruise, so didnt really get to enjoy the island too much.

FH and I went to Punta Cana last summer for a week and stayed at the Paradisus Resort.
The beach was nice but overall I personally wouldn't reccommend DR.
