stalking

Hey girls, I just wanted to vent about my mother stalking me. Does anyone else feel like... just because it's your mother doesn't mean she should be everywhere in and know everything about your life??? My mom actually found me on LIW and knows things about the wedding before I even tell her! Not to mention, she created a bogus myspace account once to stalk my page LOL I admit, this is slightly funny and it shouldn't bother me so much because it's my mother... but I feel I have a right to privacy. When I was young, I didn't know the meaning of privacy because she didn't give me any. Now that I'm older and out on my own, I *still* don't have any.

UGH.

oo man ..set your myspace page to private...

that stinks!! my mom is sneaky too. i'm sure your mom doesn't mean any harm by it. she's probably trying to keep up with you since you live in PA.

i would be upset too though... and definitely talk to her that you feel like she's invading your space!

that may be true, but even when when I was younger, when I lived at home she NEVER gave me the privacy that any individual deserves. even a daughter deserves space and has to put up boundaries that say, 'even though you're my mother, certain parts of my life have nothing to do with you'. that doesn't mean she should get out of my life completely, but she should respect my space and the fact that everyone deserves to have a piece of their life that doesn't *always* involve their mother.

like I always say 'HI MOM'

She and I are fighting the last couple of days because she forgets I have my own life to tend to.... so... I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I have an odd relationship with my mom... I dont think there's anything that I dont run and call her about.

Even when I was younger...I remember kissing a boy for the first time and not being able to sleep until I told my mom! She thought it was hysterical and still laughs about it.

Best advice is to talk to her about it... but if she's stalking your LIW account, she probably is already aware of this situation!

My facebook page has also been rated PG and employer friendly for a long time, especially since I was a freshman RA back in the day.

good point - it's not so much that i care about her *seeing* the content. it's really nothing i wouldn't want anyone to read. it's the fact that she actively searches for it. she's always been such a sneak about things.... you expect that from certain people, but not your mother.

That's a hard situation!! I know someone who is going through something similar with her mom and e mail./facebook/myspace!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try to think of it as her wanting to be a bigger part of the wedding.. but at the same time.. you gotta tell her that it's making you upset!!!!!!!!!!

and it's a nice thing that you can set myspace pages to PRIVATE hehe!

I AM SOO GLAD MY MOM HATES THE COMPUTER lol
