Stamp Issues!

Ok, so I am currently printing my envelopes and would like my invites to go out next week, so I now have to get my invites weighed so that I can stamp them. I asked the post office about the types of stamps and they said they barely have any left because of the rate change. New wedding stamps won't be out until after May 12th!

oh no....we almost had that problem but made our RSVP date for May 12th to avoid that.

Just saw your wedding date...If you mail them out on the 13th you'll be fine. Guests need around a month to RSVP!

I had the same issues, that's until i found out that zazzle.com already started selling the new stamps. I got the forever stamps for my rsvp's--looks tacky--wish i found out about zazzle a lot sooner.

You may have to pay a little more at zazzle.com, but it's worth a try :)

Yes, but I wanted them out by the 1st since we also have a B list.

how about ordering the wedding stamps off of the usps website? that's how i ordered mine (i'm way too lazy to find a post office that carries them) and they came really fast. i think i had them within 3-5 days.

I guess I have to do that but I wanted to stuff them Sunday and have them out Monday or Tuesday!

Oh...that's might be tight. Well wait a week and then mail out your B list if you get any no's. The problem is that the people who say no...wait to send their RSVP cards back.

That's a great idea...better then having to wait a few weeks. Stuffing only took a few hours...You could crank it out in one night if you have help.

I was going to recommend going to the usps website also, I got my stamps within a few days! I am mailing my invites out before may 12th, a little early (my rsvp date is June 27th) to avoid the whole increase in stamp price. I'm even putting the pink wedding hearts stamps on my rsvp replies because they just look nicer... I really don't want ugly stamps at all! I just wish they could come out with the nice stamps right away, the people working in the post office told us it would be a few months before the come out with new nice ones. I wish they would've just waited until 2009 to raise the freaking stamp price! Can you tell i've been agonizing over this for a while??

I had to go to a few post offices to get the stamps I needed. You might even be able to call around to different places to save yourself a trip.

For my engagement invites, I wanted a specific stamp ... I went to the Rockville Centre post office (one of the main branches), and they were able to issue more of them for me .... just had to go back the next day to pick them up.
