Starting Time?

Starting Time?

Our starting time for the wedding has not been officially set yet. We were thinking abut 2:00...but everytime I mention I would like it at two, FH's family member say I have to have it at 2:30, because weddings must take place at half past an hour. Has anyone heard of this, or are they being overly superstitious?!?!

Don't forget that before you start the ceremony, you have to take one step in... then one step out... then one step in... and shake it all about...

(i think it's just late and I'm getting giddy...)

I never heard of this superstition at all. I like the way 'half past eleven in the morning' looks on our invites, but that's a silly reason to schedule your wedding to start at a certain time. Plus, our ceremony is actually starting at 12.

Never heard of it either. I think they're thinking the ceremony is half past so that the CH and reception start on the hour. But whatever...who cares? Do what you want!

I never heard of that either. The time is basically whenever the church/RH tells you LOL.

You can have it start at whatever time is good for you. I never heard of this before, is it true??

Re: Starting Time?

FMIL asked that we have ours after the half hour...2:30 or 2:45...she said its unlucky to have a wedding while the minute hand is descending. It didn't bother me to have it at 2:30 so I chose it to make her happy.
