Stay at home Mom Question

do you plan on staying home with your kids?

is that even possible on LI?

We are looking to buy a home soon, and it just seems impossible to even have the choice anymore to stay home and raise your own kids.

just curious what my peers are thinking

I would like to. I may be in Grad School/Internships when we start makin the babies. Once they are a bit older I will ideally start my own practice out of my home so I can be there after school and in the AM.

Moving down South will help with the money factor.

I dont plan on having kids for a LONG time. But when we finally do I am definately going to be a stay at home mom. By then we should have things stable enough for me to do so. My mom was always home for me and my brother and I would love to do the same my kids one day.

I don't think I could do it permanently..then again, it's hard to predict that kind of stuff..I'm sure my perspective will change when I have kids. I'm hoping that my maternity leave and any add'l time I may take off will get me off my arse and start of my writing career If successful, I wouldn't have the typical work schedule!

I definitely plan on staying at home. my current position may allow me to work from home which would be fantastic!! Ill keep my fingers crossed and hope it works out for us. If not, Ill be working when we have kids.

the only thing is who would watch my kid when I go to work. Then my paycheck would wind up going to daycare. I guess we will see where we stand in 4 years when we are ready.
