When designing save the dates, how much information do you have to put on there? Also, when writing the location, do you write the city of the church or the reception hall? Thanks ladies!

Re: STD question...
I didn't even write the location on mine... I just put our names, our wedding date, our wedding website, and 'formal invitation to follow'

Re: STD question...
I wrote our names, Save the Date, our date and Invitations to follow.
After I did it and ordered I realized I have lots of out of town guests and never put the location. SO now I am paniking. I am wondering if I should call my RH and ask them to send me there direction cards to include for OOT guests that way they can put that up with the magnet. What do you think????

See, that's one of the issues I have too. I want OOT guests to know that the wedding is in NY. At the same time, I don't want to just write NY, b/c then they'll think Manhattan and that's not the case (church is in Queens and rh is in Port Wash). I also can't write just write Queens or LI b/c neither is true....ugh.
As far as your concern (I might do the same thing), if they want to know, they can call you, right?

Yes, in your situation its tough to put the place since there are in 2 different areas. Do you think maybe just putting a copy of the direction card in with them will be good. I think they will want to book hotels near the reception hall (since they will want to be near there as it is more convenient for them to get home to when it is over).

Re: STD question...
I think I'll just slip in the hotel info (we're pre booking rooms)--that should be perfect! thanks so much!

Re: STD question...
Our save the dates were magnets that read:
Save the Date! October 4, 2008 Jane & John are getting married! www.janeandjohn.com
Our website had all the information about hotels, reception halls, times and events.

Re: STD question...
I would just made a wedding website using www.ewedding.com or www.mywedding.com (theyre both free) and you can put both your ceremony info and reception info on the website...along with A LOT of other useful material to guest. Then include the wedding website on your STD.

Re: STD question...
We used this one from Magnetstreet.com. We kept the wording but changed the font, font color pic, and names.
you can just put the basics like name and date, if you are having a destination wedding maybe a location would be good.
if you have your wedding website done, add the address to the STD so that people can log online and check out the information from there.

STD info
I just put our names and the date. I had trouble deciding which STD to use so I ordered a bunch of free samples from http://orderweddingsamples.com
