Is that limited to holiday weekend weddings? or is it a matter of choice?
I'm getting married on the Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend, which is not a high traveled holiday.. Should I send a STD or can I get away w/ not sending one?
hmmmmm

I think it is preference... If you want people to show up, I would sent it on a holiday weekend.

I think it depends...mine is during memorial day weekend so i knew i had to. But some people just like sending them out b/c it's nice for people to know...even if it isn't a holiday so they can make arrangements with time off work and such if they're from OOT

Re: STD Talk...just wondering
We're sending them to our families and close friends even though everyone knows the date... it's on a Friday in the summer so people might have plans, but we're really just sending them because I think the magnets are cute.

Re: STD Talk...just wondering
I think its a matter of if you want most people to show up to your wedding. It you give them a lot of warning, more ppl will probably show. I have a really small number of invites and a not too much smaller minimum so I am giving mine out at 1 year ahead to give them notice.
Also if you are having a lot of out-of-country guests like me, I def. suggest it. My FH's cousin decided to get married the Friday after us in Canada so that all the people who live in Europe can take it a vacation to come to NY then to Canada b/c its not really worthwhile to have to come back twice. Their wedding is after us, and I got their save-the-date yesterday!!! I better get crackin'.

I did STD only because my wedding is on a Friday and most of FH family is coming from Puerto Rico. Its a nice thing to do and gives everyone a heads up . I did mine thru Vista Print. Pics are in my album. HTH Ps Your wedding day is on a 3 day weekend I would def. do it.

Me too (hey date twin!!!!). Memorial Day is a huge travel weekend, but lots of people do little getaways for three day weekends and Columbus Day does draw people to upstate or New England, even if just for pretty drive . . . . I don't think they are necessary, especially if the word is spreading, but if you have lots of OOT guests, or people with kids who need to make more complicated arrangements, I would go for it. Vistaprint is super-affordable, so it doesn't have to be a big extra expense.

If their in your budget, send them...My wedding is 4th of july wknd so I really needed to bc its a popular month. I ordered mine from magnetstreetwedding.com and I love them. They weren't that expensive either. Besides the holiday, they are just cute to send.
I attached mine...Check them out!
