Hi girls...

Well, on Tuesday, Steve was in a very bad accident... he was hit by a suburban while riding his bicycle. He was taken by helicopter to the hospital, and remained in the ICU for 2 days.... he needed surgery to close a large laceration on his stomach that left his ribs exposed, and needed stitches on both of his arms and face. His injuries were very severe, and he lost a LOT of blood... but luckily after two days in intensive care, he was brought to a regular room, and now he is home with me.

It really was the scariest thing that has ever happened to us... and the thought of losing the love of my life was just unbearable... especially only two months before becoming his wife! All I could do was bargain with god... and pray for his recover.... and although he's still very badly injured, he is doing much better and will be okay. In light of all of this, I started to thing about the things that are important.... and the things that arent. I felt so silly for worrying about stupid little details for our wedding... and I realize now all I want to do is be his wife, and love him and take care of him forever.

Please girls.... I know we all get very caught up in plannign the perfect wedding, but please take a step back and realize what really matters.

I'm including some pictures too... but they are very graphic. Please pray for a full recovery for my lovieeee!
(I'm not including the ones of his face, he feels embarrased!)

FIrst, a picture of his left arm ('road rash' as they call it... they could not use sutures because there was just no skin left, then there are some sutures in a lower spot)...... Second, a picture of his right arm (not as bad), and Third, a picture of his torso (needed 39 staples).

Haley OMG, what can I say? I am sooooooooooooooo sorry. I am so happy he is ok and home w/ you. You are absolutely correct about the 'little things'. I can't wait to get this whole 'wedding thing' over with to move on. God was watching over you both.

OMG i am so sorry. . . . .thank god he is going to be alright. . . . . . . I couldnt imagine anything happening to my moto thats awful. . . sending prayers your way for a speedy recovery

OMG- thank GOd he is home and he is recovering. I pray that he has a speedy recovery. I am so sorry this happened.

Thank GOD he is OK... He'll have some war wounds, but again, thank God he's OK. You guys are so lucky... for a speedy recovery.

oh my goodness, at least he is safe at home. So sorry that happened to you and him especially, at least god was watchingt over him and he is ok. Hugs and prayer for a good full recovery.

There isn't much to say that already hasn't been said. But I wish Steve a speedy recovery and I am so glad to hear that he is home with you!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about this-So glad he is home w/you now! I was in a very bad accident a few years ago and its in these times that you really realize whats important as well as how much you love one another. My FH was my rock when I was badly injured and it was then that I realized he was the 'one'-this will definately strengthen your relationship and love for one another! Best of luck and send my get well wishes to your FH.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

This is the first that I am seeing this-- I have been so busy lately that I have not been on the boards-- I feel AWFUL.... I thank GOD that he is alive and is OK-- it is truly a miracle and he had an Angel looking over him.

I'm so very sorry that you two had to go through all of this only about two months before your wedding- that is so much to deal with and it's not fair-- but at least he is OK and will be able to go to the wedding and enjoy himself in two months time.

This makes me think back to October when Vin was in his accident-- Thank God, he had no wounds like Steve but he has banged up and it was more of an internal hurt-- but that scare, that feeling of 'is he going to be OK?'-- it's something that I will never forget and I'm sure you feel the same way. It definitely puts things into perspective and although life goes back to normal after a little while- you never really fully forget

I'm so glad he is OK... Thank God!!!

OMG...I almost started crying when I was reading your post. I'm so glad to hear that Steve is back home with you Hayley. And what you said is very true, to take a step back and realize what the important things are in life.
