At my cousin's wedding someone stole the money in the card box!!!!
Can you believe this?!!! I feel so bad for them! She was so upset!

How many of you will keep the money in the card box?
or designate someone to take it out periodically and hold it safe?

I can't believe this could happen!!! This makes me scared to trust that the money will be in there at the end of the night!

Any words?

Believe it or not, this is common and does happen a good deal. Sometimes some of the cards get stole, but not all.

I never did a card box. Instead, I just had a little sack that my aunts kept watch over--they rotated so someone was always at the table and one of them always had tabs on it so nothing was stolen or lost.

I can't believe someone would do that!

I'm not going to lie, I am worried about this, but more worried about people not putting the cards in the box and leaving them on the table to be snatched up.

FH was the one who told me he was concerned about this to begin with but I brushed it off. Now reading this I'm def more concerned. Even if you put a lock on it...which I was planning on doing, they can possibly figure out how to steal the entire box. I'm not so sure I'm going to do this anymore.

I heard about something else at The meadow club.... the wedding party had all their purses in the bridal suite and all the money got taken out of their wallets.... after hearing that, I would think it would be someone on the wait staff... could it really be a coincidence that things like that happen twice at the same place???

That is terrible! You would think of all places people would not steal from would be a wedding. It is supposed to be a happy celebration of love. I will buy i tiny lock and lock the box somehow to prevent this. As for the people putting cards on the table....... I am not to sure what to do about that to protect them.

OMG!! I am shocked I don't know what to say! Do they know if it was a waiter? They could see if the RH can do something for them? I am assuming that the person took the cards with the money inside right? I doubt people just put money it there?

I made my own card box and wrapped it in fabric. so the only way to open it is to rip the bottom open basically. And the top is only thin enough to put a card into it. You cant fit your hand in it, so I don't (hopefully) think I will have this issue, but I think I am going to have someone watch the cardbox anyway

actually one of FH's aunts... who no one talks to anymore.... actually admitted to FH and I and FSIL at a wedding no less that she would take the $$ out of the box if she went to 'put' her card in!!! She has a history of stealing money
