Stopping the Pill/Baby time..

Original post by StarIzInkd

So I have been on Birth control for about 15 years now and my last month on it will be my wedding month. I'm just looking to see from others who know what its like.. I don't even remember! Longer Periods? more cramps? Am I going to miss the pill? lol I'm partly hoping to get pregnant as soon as possible due to our ages (32 me, 44 him)and the fact that he already has 2 fully grown children and I hate the age gap there will be as it is. Part of me wants to wait though as we JUST moved in together in a new place and things are so awesome and we are just settling into this life. So torn, so confused. I hear it could take a long time to conceive after so long on the pill but then I hear it can happen right away. I wonder how it will go!

I came off the pill a good 6 months ago to let my body reset. I also started taking prenatal vitamins. You want to start taking them at least a few months before you even start trying to get pregnant. I will likely need some kind of intervention due to other medical problems, so I wanted to give my body as much of a break as I could and hope for it to happen naturally. I am going to try and see my dr a month before the wedding so we will be ready to go.

Re: Stopping the Pill/Baby time..

I just recently talked to my doctor about it. I'm on nuvaring. I had a miscarriage back in February. The pregnancy was completely unplanned since I didn't have a refill for my nuvaring. I talked with my doctor to figure out how to plan it for my wedding date/honeymoon. So I'll be wearing the ring for 4 weeks instead of the usual 3 weeks so that it times out almost perfectly. *fingers crossed*
