story about my crappy birthday.

story about my crappy birthday.

so i am starting to think that i might be going nuts soon, since all i seem to be having lately is drama in my life. My fiance left the country last week to go see his sick grandfather. So this saturday was my bday and one of my bridesmaids made plans with me for saturday night dinner to chear me up since i was alone and missing my fh (many of you know we had a fight last week too).

let me just say i have never had a more terrible night in my life. First we went to dinner at a place called sparks in manhattan. Dinner was ok, we had a nice time, i had two glasses of wine. (I am very much a lightweight in terms of drinking since i never go out anymore.) Then we went to a club called spirit. Since she paid for dinner i figured i would pay for the entrance fee. When we got in we found out it was gay night. I asked my friend if we could leave and go somewhere else but she did not want to, so we stayed and i figured i would make the best of it (i was just going to dance anyway i did not want to meet any guys.) As the night went on i had two more drinks and lost track of my friend. I looked around for her for a while and could not find her. Finally she found me and said she had been talking to her boyfriend on the phone, and she was so upset because he was across the street at a club called Quo with his friends. I told her we could go over there if she wanted to. She said no, it was my night and she did not want to see him, 'he can come over here if he wants to see me.' So the night goes on, and before i know it there is a group of guys (one of them my friend's bf) yelling at us and telling us it is time to leave. I was pretty drunk so i found the commotion kind of upsetting. After we went and got our coats, i remembered i had left my i.d. and my atm card with the bartender since we had a tab running. So i told my friend that i had to go back down to get it. She said ok so i went downstairs and was waiting for the bartender to print out my receipt and give me my id back. Before i knew it one of the guys was yelling at me to hurry up and saying that i was being so selfish and i should be thinking about my friend. I was so confused and started crying. Then we all left the club and my friend was walking with her bf so far ahead of me and i was stuck in the back with all those guys who were being mean. One of the guys pulled me aside, and said stop acting like this because my bm told everyone that i was on drugs and that is why her boyfriend had to come rescue her at the club. I flipped out and told them i would take a cab home and before i knew it i was in a cab (nobody tried to stop me) going home with no money. I still have not heard from my bridesmaid.

so needless to say i am writing her off as a friend for good. But it takes such a toll on me emotionally.

OMG..I am so sorry! What a horribe story. i can't believe that happenned. Did your friend actually tel the guy you were on drugs, or did he just say that? I wouldn;t trust what the guys said althoug the fact that you went home alone in a cab is an indication of something I'm so sorry!

That is the craziest story I ever heard. Why the hell did she tell her BF that???????

Awww, I'm so sorry you didn't have a happy birthday!!! Your friend just made you go from feeling bad to worse, you can tell she's not much of a friend at all. Esp for making you stay at the club when you didn't want to. I know it hurts, but in the long run it's best to get rid of the negative baggage in your life. Look on the bright side, it makes you realize how good your FI is, if he had been there none of that would've happened. Sorry to hear about his grandfather, hope he's doing well and your FI can come home soon!!

Re: story about my crappy birthday.

i have no idea why she said that; i am thinking maybe she made that up so that she would corner her boyfriend into having to come and see her at the club. Or maybe the guy was lying to me. But in the end, i ended up going home by myself in a cab, and my 'friend' hasnt yet called to see if i am ok.

i know this story is crazy, i feel crazy for being a part of it. That is why i know i have to cut her off for good as a friend. I hate losing friends but i really have no choice.

How long have you been friends w/ this girl? This is just so bizarre. I mean, are you ready to just cut her out w/o finding out exactly what happened? Why was those guys so mean to you? Why does she date such a jerk??

Re: story about my crappy birthday.

i have been friends with her since high school, about nine years. But three years ago i had a fight with her for similar reasons and was not really close but we have become close again for the past year (i had decided to forgive her and give her another chance). Her and her boyfriend are both complete psychos, i have known that for a while, but i guess i was in denial and i wanted to keep our friendship so i have let many things go. I would love to speak with her and find out what really happened but i dont see the point with her--- it is all lies lies lies with her. I absolutely hate losing a friend since i have few friends and really care about the ones that i have, but i dont want to be hurt by her anymore.

This is completly insane. I think she took you out that night because her boyfriend didnt want to hang out with her and she used you to get to him. I think she is a terrible bi**h. I have had one or two friends like that in my lifetime. Just forget about her, you're not even in the same league as her anyway.

Let us know what happens

Given the history, you're better off without her. I can't imagine letting a friend go home alone in a cab..on her BIRTHDAY. Forget this psycho.

that's so awful. it's better this way i think - i can imagine the drama that she would pull at your wedding. it's hard to lose a friend and maybe you don't have to cut her off completely. some people just have flaws that you have to accept - be friends, just not close friends.

edited to say... Happy Birthday

I would keep in mind that you were both drunk - things can get crazy quickly when alcohol is involved - I would suggest not cutting off ties until you hear her side of the story.

I'm sorry! You don't need friends like that. I know its hard to lose friends, but there are some people you just can't get through to. You're better off without them.

Well first off, Happy birthday!
Second, I think you should talk to your friend. This whole story sounds bizarre, and I wouldn't just cut her out of your life untiil you hear what she has to say. Why on earth would she say those kinds of things about you? It doesn't make any sense!!!
