Re: STRAPLESS~!!!!!!!!

ugh i have the same problem - everywhere i go i cant find strapless! it is like they dont want to show them to me bc i am petite!

yeah so my new plan of attack is to go to the bridal stores with specific dresses - so far i found a v neck from Jasmine and one with 3/4 length sleeves from maggie sottero

FM me if you need more help!

edited bc i cant spell!

Re: STRAPLESS~!!!!!!!!

you could also always buy the dress and take it somewhere else to have sleeves put on. it's really not that hard to do, and i'm sure once it's not in the 'wedding package' (ie not with the people you bought the dress from/who make the dress) it'll be fairly cheap. look up a few recommended seamstresses and ask around to see if they can do it and for how much before you buy it though. good luck!

p.s. - do like the other girls are saying and try it on first. a lot of times strapless are more flattering than you think it'll be.

I have wide shoulders, and a big chest as well, and I got a strapless...it's actually what looks best on me! Give them a try!

Re: STRAPLESS~!!!!!!!!

I would try on some strapless dresses - I am a 34G so obviously very top heavy - the dresses I tried on with straps made me look even bigger than I am. I ended up with a strapless dress but a word of advice - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wear a corset bra or long line bra under your dress. Once I started dancing at the reception, my dress started slipping!

That said, there are very pretty dresses with sleeves like these:

EVERY DRESS IS STRAPLESS!

Now... don't get me wrong, I think that the strapless dresses are GORGEOUS. But I don't have the right build for it. I think my boobs are too big and my shoulders are too broad.

The bridal place said they can add straps or sleeves to the dress I love.. but it jacks the price of the dress up CONSIDERABLY.

*sigh*

Anyone have suggestions for a girl like me who can't wear the strapless option well?

I didn't think that I would be able to wear a strapless dress because I have HUGE boobs (34DD), so I am wearing corset top and I might not even have to wear a bra. I was shocked at how they fit! I was dead set against strapless at first, and now I am getting one, I would def. try it out!

I LOVE IT and you know what I LOVE IT EVEN MORE ON YOU! omg it is gorgeous!!

i didnt try it on yet but seriously i am so much more excited now that i saw it on you! and you know what gets me mad? the places i went to try on dresses carry marggie sottero BUT when i asked for dresses that werent strapless they looked at me like i was stupid or something!! if they had brought me this dress they would have made an automatic sale! i cant wait until november to go see it!

Re: STRAPLESS~!!!!!!!!

I knew I didn't want to get strapless, I just don't feel comfortable in them, and I've always had a problem with strapless dresses staying up.

When I started looking I thought I was going to get one anyway, being that its whats in style. Well, I'm so glad I didn't! I ended up w/ 3/4 length sleeves and LOVE LOVE LOVE my dress (its in my album).

Have you tried any dresses on that had sleeves? I thought they might look a bit dated until I tried one on, and fell in love with it. Some of them are just so traditional looking, not to mention they can look very classy and elegant with out looking dated.

Go with what you like, despite what the current trend is. I have a feeling the whole strapless thing won't be around for much longer anyway.

a halter would work great

I know exactly how you feel! I did not want strapless either. Here is my dress. Non-strapless dresses are out there.....you just might have to search a little harder.

Re: STRAPLESS~!!!!!!!!

I'm having the same issue finding dresses. However, I will say that the few I've tried on with some sort of sleeve actually make my boobs look even larger than what they are - 34DD

What I have found to be good is the corset back dresses. Those have looked the best on me - either strapless or with a very fine strap. Don't give up. I know one gets discouraged, but don't give up.

I need to get back to the hunt myself. I have one eyed that I might get if I don't fall in love with anything else.

Best of luck to you.

BTW girls, those Maggie Soteros are nice.

I'd suggest trying a halter, I think they're flattering on most body types. I knew I didn't want strapless either and I tried on a bunch of styles and the one that looked best on me was a halter.
