I personally don't like the look of straps on a wedding gown, JMO.

I'm hoping that once it's altered, my gown will fit properly so that I'm not constantly pulling it up all night.

if you get a strapless in the right size and it is altered well than it shouldn't be fall and you shouldnt have to be picking it up.

if you think you will just be uncomfortable than i would suggest getting straps...it won't look good if you are picking up the dress all night...esp for pics

I went with a strapless gown b/c I liked the way it looked better. I'm just not a fan of straps, BUT I've seen some very beautiful gowns with straps so I think it's really a stylistic preference.

Plus, once the dress is properly fitted to you, you shouldn't be constantly adjusting it. I think the issue with some strapless gowns is girls loose weight between the wedding and their last fitting so they that's why the fit might not be as good.

if your gown fits perfectly like it is supoosed to you don't need to pick it up all night.

I love strapless gowns and one shoulder gowns. But I always knew I wanted a strapless gown. If the dress is your size, don't worry it won't fall. Many dresses have corset tops; which holds really well.

Hey you!

I personally love straps on a dress....but I also have a bigger top portion. In my opinion, strapless is overated but thats JMO!!! Its still beautiful!

I had a strapless gown and wish I hadn't. If you have a large chest even after alterations the dress slips, and you have to pick it up. I wish I would have had straps added on for when we were dancing.

I have a strapless dress (it's in my album if you want to see) and it's been fitted to me perfectly so it won't budge or fall around the top. They built my bra in, which was very handy, and they put in a tie around the waist that helps secure it centrally so it doesn't feel like the entire weight of the dress is being carried by my boobs.

I still have to see if I can dance in it at my next fitting (the tulle in the center was too long last time) but in general I think it's great. I just wish my arms weren't so fat, but that's ok. It's allllllll me in there!!!!!!!!!

I am adding detachable cap sleeves to my dress - they snap on and off, so I can have no straps for most of the day, and then when it's time to dance, put the cap sleeves on.

I have a large chest, and I was hoping I wouldn't have the problem with the strapless dress.

If it is altered correctly, you may not need the straps to hold you up and it will be fine. It depends on the dress.

My dress came with extra straps just in case, but I didn't feel they looked right with the dress. However, in some of my pictures you see me pulling my dress up and holding my boobs lol Mostly the reason was also that I lost some more weight after the last fitting and the dress was very loose. =(

If you have a corset top, I would imagine this would help that from happening though. If not, I would make sure it's altered very well up top and is tight enough to hold you up.

Out of all the weddings I have been to, I have never NOT seen a bride/BM pull on her strapless dress. LoL i think it's just one of those things that go along with it. However, if the dress fits properly, i'm sure you won't be doing it all night. I have a large chest and when I tried strapless, I was amazed because they really hold you up unlike most regular dresses!

Get what you feel comfortable in. If I were you, I would try on both because you never know. Good luck! :)

If it's for the warmer/hot weather, I would def go with a strapless dress esp for an outdoor wedding. If it's taking place inside a church with sleeves is fine since there will be a/c. Make sure you get your dress fitted! Luckily, my wedding gown had corset boning so it stayed on all day. The only prob I had was with the train since I'm short. If you're really worried about the strapless dress slipping, look for a dress that has fitted or corset boning built inside which def helps the dress stay put throughout your wedding day.

I thought I wanted straps..but I kept trying on all strapless and I liked the way they looked. Plus, I'm getting married in the summer, so I thought straples would be cooler.

The dress I picked originally was strapless, however, I am having them build a halter strap for me. I love the way halters look and I don't want to have to be picking up my dress all night. I have a large chest and I've worn strapless dresses that were altered for me. I was STILL picking it up.

i like both...its up to you. if you try on a bunch of dresses and you end up liking one with straps then i say go for it and if you like it without then that's the dress. Also, if you absolutely LOVE a strapless dress you try on but you aren't comfortable with the strapless, you can have them add custom straps for you. My sister is larger in the chest and she chose cap sleeves for her gown and it looked beautiful. It's all up to you!

I like strapless much better...but I was worried about picking it up, so I made sure to get a dress with a corset back...that way they'll tie it so that it won't fall.

i knew i wanted something with straps just because i hate strapless. at my brother's wedding i kept having to pull up my dress and it annoyed me. in his video you can see my SIL and the rest of the BM's pulling up their dresses.

when i first tried on my dress i thought it was strapless and i was going to have them add straps, but it turns out that they have detachable cap sleeves

I had a strapless gown and not one time did I EVER have to touch it, it stayed put. no problems, and I LOVED IT...
