Stream of Conciousness... (join in!)

Stream of Conciousness... (join in!)

This is a writing exercise we used to do in high school. A word (or phrase) is given and everyone is to write for 2 minutes a stream-of-conciousness response to that word.

Let's make it a little more diverse and at the end of each post think of a new word or phrase.

I'll start...

Long Island
it's the biggest lie around because the entire island isn't considered part of it (Queens and Brooklyn). There's a weird culture here of affluence right next to poverty, it's like Victoria Gotti buying a Fish Fillet at McDonald's at the same time that homeless guy who screams a lot is buying a McGriddle. It's like a paradox only boring, predictable and consumer-driven.

the next word is WEDDINGS

weddings are overpriced. who needs to spends thousands in just one day when the important thing of it all is marriage and your life together. save up and invest in your future instead.

Weddings

Too much stress for one day...people spending beyond their means..should be used for a house..to much drama..hair, dress, hall guest..weather, constant worrying for 2 years for 1 day..actually half a day. Is the groom even happy, does the groom even want all this? do guests even want to come to the wedding, I know I hate to go, family okay, but friends where I only know a couple of people no way

Just like those adds for a marriage made in heaven. like chocolate and peanut butter, you never see those 2 fight, now do you? But peanut butter chips never taste as good in cookies as chocolate chips. Like something is missing. And that's how it should be really, when it's one instead of the other, there should be that hollowness, the gaping maw, like 'where's my arm?' Missing him should be like missing an appendage.

Egg Salad

Delicious and a great source of protein, but I worry about the mayo content..I like to make it had home with mustard and relish. That sounds good for lunch today, but too many WW points. then I would have it on a roll..I think I am getting a hummas sand from cosi. but I have to remember to ask for extra tomatos I always forget. I use a lot of salt too on them.

Egg Salad.

Who in the world ever thought to mix the two nastiest substances in the world together? Eggs and Mayonnaise. And what the heck is Mayonnaise? A slimy, glutonous mixture that most of us wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole if we knew what was actually in it. But, here's the real question. Who was the first human to see an egg come out of the *#$* of a chicken and think, hmmm, I wonder if that tastes good?

snow is white when it first comes down but then it turns black and ugly. ugly as the world we live in where evil surrounds us like our own shadow.

I love the snow...it makes everything look clean and crisp.
I haven't yet had the chance of rolling in it and jumping in the hot tub after...I think I'll do that tonight :)
WHy is it that my one dog eats all the snow he can find, and my other dog is terrified of snow...they are brothers, why such differences in behavior?

SNOW-
A beautiful gift from the heavens above, how lovely it is to see those little flakes float from the sky above. As it sticks the pavement and I make my hot cocoa a feeling of warmth and peace comes over me. Just as I walk up to the fire and hug my husband, I think about how much I love snow....
wait...I have to shovel it and then drive in it?

SNOW

enough is enough already people
who decided that north of such and such latitude we'd be the lucky ones to receive the wonderful gift of cold wet good-for-nothin snow
favorite snow memory is when i was little and daddy was at work and having a bad day, so mommy went outside and used food coloring to write i love you in the snow for him. worst snow memory was watching my sister eat gizmo's special yellow snow. i think i just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Dogs

People are going to hate me for saying this, but dogs are totally overrated. Big, dopey dogs are okay - maybe like Clifford or Marmaduke or at least Nana from Peter Pan. But I really hate little yappy dogs...or rats on strings as I prefer to refer to them.

dogs

I have a crazy fear of dogs, I don't know why or how..my DH really wants one, so I want to get on for him, but I am uneasy about it, I don't know what I fear..but I know I am more scared around cats..they seem evil, sorry cat lovers...

dogs are your bestfriend especially when you come home from a Bad day. they love to run, jump, play. they love to lie down next to you and put there paw on you when they want affection. dogs can be a calming relaxation when you are stressed and they can alway's make you feel like nothing matters and the stressed is gone. I love dogs big size or small when i get a house, condo we are going to get one. that is my theories on dogs.

Dogs will give anybody affection. For a cat, you have to work for its affection (what movie is that from?? )

Cats:

cats make me sneeze - a lot. They make my eyes water and itch and it lasts for hours after I leave the house with the cats. Pictures of cats are cute, but I don't like them in real life. DH's parents had 3 cats while we were dating. One just died, which I feel badly about, b/c it was the female, and she was the only smart one. I actually liked her. Her name was mittens. I'm not a big animal fan in general, actually...except for dolphins - I want one.
