Stressed Out~!

1. A-line gowns usually look good on heavier set/bigger busted women (speaking from experience. So they should know of they will look ok in it.
2. If you havent found a BM dress you love and you like this one especially the color you still have time to change your scheme I say do it.
3. As for your MOH as much as she doesnt like it you will not make everyone happy with everything someone will always have an opinion, at least the other girls like it.

Ps did you try davids bridal? I got my bm gowns there and they are floor length and reasonable (pic in my album).

2013-er crashed! But personally I think the bm dress you like is pretty and the color is different not something you always see not 80s.

HTH!

Stressed Out~!

I am doing black dresses also! I wanted a silver/charcoal but I didn't like the way it looked in person.

Those flowers are going to absolutely POP against the black dresses!! Love it!

Stressed Out~!

I love the dress - I love whatever color makes you happy (both are really nice, but for different reasons). Everyone is right, it's YOUR day. Do what makes you happy. The people that truly have your wants/needs in mind will totally just go with the flow (must us have)!

Speaking as a BM from this party, I would wear puke green and totally rock it with a smile for this bride :)

Re: Stressed Out~!

Do one thing first- breathe in and out and repeat several times until you relax. Lol Ok since you have bridesmaids of several sizes - black is very slimming. The color is not THAT bad but I feel with the varying in sizes of your bridal party, the black will be flattering for all. As far as your MOH goes, if you wanted your bridal party to wear tutus with tiaras, then they wear tutus with tiaras. It's your day and if anyone should understand that it should be your MOH. I am going through a situation where my MOH is not even present. I got engaged on New Year's Day, booked my venue, purchased my dress and have not seen my 'MOH' since Dec. 29th. It is a looooonnngggggg story.
Is there a way you can get that dress in black? Where have you been looking. I am thinking of purchasing my bridesmaid dresses here.

Did you register for The Knot. They give you a lot of ideas too = )

Stressed Out~!

Beautiful dresses!! If you love it, go for it! Does it come in maternity sizes? I know some designers sell the dresses in maternity! Being prego, I hate the fact that regular clothes no matter how big I buy them just don't fit right! But with a bm dress they can alter it however it needs to be altered!

Unfortunately, it doesn't come in maternity size. Thankfully, all babies will be born by then with the exception of maybe 1. I quadruple checked the with bridal salon about the pregnancies and they said that it's quite common so they really know how to measure for it and order the dresses... and, like I said, since it is a corset back, it is super easy to let out or take it. Letting it out is basically just adding a larger privacy panel to the back of the corset so it doesn't tie as tightly.

Stressed Out~!

Glad to see I am not the only one with this issue.

I like the dress and have seen that style on women of all shapes and it flatters each.
The color is beautifu. I have changed my colors several times due to change in seasons, inability to find exact colors, and colors to work with the venue.
In terms of your MOH not liking the dress, its your wedding. I too am trying to please my bridal party, but I have informed them that if they dont get on board with one of the many options I have given them that I will become a bridezilla.

My entire party is awesome. I love them all and they all seem to be looking out for me and really on my side, supporting all of my decisions... except for my MOH. I am pretty much over it, though lol I am at a point where I am like 'It's MY once-in-a-lifetime event.... so this is what I want. Done.' I know it sounds harsh but if only one person has an issue with something then it is up to them to suck it up. If multiple BMs have an issue about something, then I would absolutely think twice.

Thanks for the input, ladies! It really helped with my decision.

I decided to go black on the dresses and instead of doing teal accents, I have decided to go with jewel tones (emerald, sapphire blue, ruby red and deep purple). These colors will be in my bouquet. I will probably stick with the black and white linens, as I originally planned so I dont have an explosion of color everywhere. I can use blue uplighting to give it a wintery look and pull from the jewel colors in the centerpieces. I feel like I am taking on a lot of colors but I think I can really put it together well as long as I dont overdo it.

I kept going over in my mind how can I do the black without it being too drab (because black is what I originally wanted) and I am really happy with this solution!

Crashing...

Here is a few suggestions...

For the reception room:

Uplighting - blue for the winterish theme

Centerpeices - High Vases with Baby Breathe Balls on top.

The jewel colors can be in your bouquet. and then the girls can carry mini jewel bouquets wrapped in the black scrapes of their dresses.

The girls can even wear a colored shoe too.

Re: Stressed Out~!

I say do what makes you happy. It's your day. If MOH not liking the dress is going to bother you, maybe you can pick a few dresses in the same color and have the girls choose the dress they want to wear. Alfred Angelo has lots of dresses with similar silhouettes and different waist and necklines. I really considered doing that, but I fell in love with a purple shade by a different designer. I have my MOH wearing a different dress than the bridesmaids.
