This is why FH and I are going to wait until November-December 2009 to buy. . .we can put our wedding gifts into a high-yield savings for a few months and use those as a down payment. Houses in the $275-350K range should still be plentiful in the Islip school district in 11 months from now!

Don't stress! Try to be patient. It looks like a lot of us know what you are going through. I moved in with my fiance and we are in the smallest apartment and every day I wish we could have a house but when we are paying for our wedding on our own, its just not feasible to do it on our own. So I just tell myself to remember that if I got a house now, we would settle on something because we can't afford the dream house so we will just wait a year and a half and buy our dream house. At the point, we'll have more $ to put down.
