Stressing about DJ
Ok. I know I have talked about this already but I am still stressing. I went to meet with Spin Around Sound (Tommy). I feel like I want to book with him but I am so afraid that I will be unhappy with the music they play. I know I am going to feel this way with any DJ that I book because I can never be 100% sure. I also thought that his prices were a little high b/c I will need to use him for my ceremony too. I have made appointments w/ other Dj's but that will probably make matters worse b/c then I wont know who to choose. Also SAS was the first DJ that I saw. Sorry but I felt like I needed to vent. Thanks for any advice.

I am in the same situation as you. I actually made 3 appointments...the first was SAS and I really liked Tom. Plus he is really into the music both my FH and I listen too! I have heard NOTHING but good things about him. There was even one post where the bride was upset he made them pay for a CD (obscure song), but she still said she would recommend him. My second appointment was with Tommy's Tunes, but they didn't show. It was for 7:00 and my roommate said they called at 7:30!!! I know not everyone has cellphones, but have we all forgotten about PAYPHONES!??! So I crossed him off my list. The third I cancelled - LI Sounds - because I saw 2 bad reviews on this site, and no good (I cannot believe my hall recommends them) I have been agonizing whether I should look at other DJs, but in this weather I am just in no mood. Even if the weather was good, I just don't want to run all over Long Island. SO, I think I am just going to choose SAS. Do a search a look at the reviews...it might make you feel better. When I was agonizing about halls a friend of mine gave me a little advice. She said what ever decidion you make you will be happy about it and will begin to get excited about it.

Colleen, we met first & only with Spin Around Sound & walked out knowing we would book them!! We recommended Tom to friends, & they booked without talking to anyone else as did we!! We just saw him at their wedding.. Awesome in a word!! He followed their lead with with the requests they had & EBERYONE danced all day (without much club type music, because they didn't want it)!! We also felt that Tom was into our kind of music & I know he will do an awsome job for us next year!! The little bit more money is worth it!!

I have talked and emailed with Tom from SAS and he is great..but me and my FH were not overally impressed with a demo tape he sent us..it had like at least 15-20 weddings on it..and we just were not thrilled with music, or voices of mcees etc. If you think they are too pricey look around..but you may wind up they are worth the money if you really like them..music is an important factor for a wedding. it was a bit stressful deciding who to pick..but it will all work out!! Good Luck :)

I think you might be better off just seeing one more DJ. I think it will make you feel better. We only saw two, Body Rock who I loved at a showcase but they were way out off our budget. And then we met with In the Mix, who we booked. You probably will stick with your first choice but seeing someone else might just put your mind at ease. Good luck...

Nicole , do you know how much in the mix charges for a 4HR affair. No lights, since its an afternoon affair for less than 100. Do you have contact no? What positive feedback did you get about them? Txs!

We met with Spin Around Sound, but chose Parameters. Eddie`s demo tape was basically the exact style of music we`re looking for at our wedding. Plus so many other factors went into our decision. Bottom line, we just felt we clicked best with Eddie. Make sure you feel comfortable before signing with anyone. Don`t just give in. If you`re interested, his number is: 516-485-4100

Don't stress!
Call Music by Michael. He is reasonably priced ($1,000 - 1,300) and offers an incredibly personalized service. His number is 631-928-5918. This guy uses computers to play all the music!Welcome New Vendors
