String Quartet

String Quartet

Hey ladies-

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a string quartet for the church. I would love to have one but so far of the 2 I've seen one was excellent but ridiculoulsy expensive and the other was affordable but horrible!!
Please help!!!

I just got a free sample CD from the Capriccio Ensemble- their music was really good. I'm not sure what your budget is, but they seemed to be about the same as the others I'd found, maybe a bit cheaper. They're a vendor on LIW- you can visit their site from the vendors page and request a free sample CD.

I actually used Capriccio for my wedding - we had a violinist, a cello, a pianist and a soprano - and they were incredible. For me, it was one of the highlights of my wedding. The music was absolutely perfect.

I've just been emailing any group I found either as a vendor or reccommended by someone on the site. I'm still searching, but have gotten a few prices. Most are $600-$1200 for trios, so I'd guess quartets range from $800-$1600 or more. I initially wanted a string trio, but I listened to several samples and now want a cello, flute, harp trio. Definitely listen to a number of demos.

I have an excellent trio (not too much $$) that my church recommended to me! I can't WAIT for them to play when I walk down the aisle! They were the best price I was able to find. I'll FM you their info.

I used Capriccio for my wedding too - but we used a trio to save some money. They were wonderful!

My friend Laura has a quartet, they are reasonable and sound just beautiful. They have played at cocktail hours, churches, garden weddings, etc. Her #516-238-8666. Elegant Strings.
