we used Sterling Music Ensembles from NYC - they were awesome! It was pricey though - $800 for a string quartet to play for 1 hr. I had to have a quartet though, so it was worth it for me

I believe they are vendors on this site - they have a website link around here somewhere.

We hired our trio for $850 for 2 hours from Expressway music in the city. They're website is www.expresswaymusic.com

Also, if you look into the Brooklyn Academy of Music, you can hire a trio for under $400.

i am booking sterling music and i was quoted $600 for the string trio for 1 hour. they are so nice and professional. elsewhere, i have been quoted $300-375 per musician. they seem to be a good company and they are affordable.
