Stringing Cranberries and Popcorn

I know this is really sad that I have to ask but I have never done this. Do you have to do anything to the cranberries before you string them?

Ok this probably dosen't really count as a craft.

Re: Stringing Cranberries and Popcorn

hmmm...i dont think you need to do anything to them...they will dry on the string, just becareful where you are laying the strings in
case some of the juice leaks out!!

Good Luck and post pics when you are done ok!!

PS...ANYTHING that is created by your hands is a craft!

Re: Stringing Cranberries and Popcorn

just saw something on Martha about stringing cranberries!!!

she said use only the firm ones...and said you should find the firm ones in the supermarket since the soft mushy ones go onto making the sauce...

Re: Stringing Cranberries and Popcorn

what a crock this write up is...they don't tell you anything!!!!

alittle more searching I found this:
Cranberry Garland
6-pound-test monofilament
Metal washers
Tapestry needle
A few bags of fresh cranberries

Cut a piece of monofilament to the desired length, and tie a metal washer to the end to form a “stop.” Thread the tapestry needle with the monofilament, and pierce berries, stringing them onto the line one at a time. Finish the garland by tying another washer at the end.
