Re: Strip Clubs
I'm definitely going to be in the minority here, but what the heck...
I have no problem with it - I'm probably the only woman I know who doesn't, but so be it. I look at it this way - what's he gonna do? Stare, drool, etc.? ooo...big deal. He's coming home to me, and that's all that matters. It would be naive of me to think that I'm the only woman he fantasizes about. And if I see a hot looking guy, I'm **** well gonna look at him. And if my friends invited me to a strip club (even though its not really my thing), I would go. As long as he is only looking at not touching, that's all I care about. And I trust my DH enough to know he's not STUPID enough to do that.
Please don't flame me for this - it's JMO.
But Sue - you have to do what YOU'RE comfortable with. Many women have a problem with their men looking and perhaps touching ( to put money in)...if that's how you feel, you have a right to feel that way and you should tell him that. He loves you and I'm sure would respect your wishes and your feelings on the matter...

As long as there is no touching, I am okay with it.

Re: Strip Clubs
I'm not a big fan of them. However, I don't really have issues when my hubby goes to one for a bachelor party or what-not. I trust him and he doesn't have a big interest in them either, so it's not a big deal for us. Plus, I always get full disclosure when he comes back from one. Like his own bachelor party. When he is up front and tells me what goes on, it doesn't bother me at all. It's when I'll hear bits and peices from a friend and it makes me wonder why he chose not to tell me....
Edit to add - Marni, I'm so with you so you are NOT the only one!!

Re: Strip Clubs
I have to say their is an underlying 'gayness' about a bunch of guys standing and staring and getting'excited' over one woman. I always thought that was weird!!!!
(not meant to offend anyone)

Re: Strip Clubs
Suzanne- And honestly, it wasn't you I was afraid would flame me...I know you're not like that!!
As for DH not telling you, well that's a whole other can of worms...but don't count your chickens quite yet.
Also, men are a different animal. They run from their fears rather than face them head on, in many instances. If for any reason he DIDN'T tell you, it's probably because he is afraid of what your reaction would be. And if you said no, you can't go, then he's afraid that his brother and friends would all say he's whipped (which he is, but that is like the biggest humiliation to men, I think). So try not to anticipate him not telling........he'll probably come thru in the end!!!!!! Or maybe he'll decide not to go altogether!!!!!!!

Re: Strip Clubs
Stacy i hear you!! i never understood that part of it either...
Marnles, Thanks!! Frank so does not like confrontation, so he would only not tell me to avoid a fight, which would be bigger in the end, cause hes not so smart when it comes to hiding something!! jerk will probably leave matches from the place in his pants
Oh well ill just wait to see what happens, and i totatly aggree with you about the whipped thing

Hahahaha - Chris is the same way!!!!!!
Hey, does Frank have a 'smile when he lies' problem. Chris CANNOT lie to me, it's actually pretty funny to watch him try.

Re: Strip Clubs
I hate them, too- but there is a long history for fh and I about that (past fights, etc.) from when I was younger and way more insecure. But he goes now, usually about once a year when his cousin visits. I do tell him he better not put any of my hard earned money in their underpants, though!
My fh can't lie, either- he also cannot look me in the eye.

Re: Strip Clubs
My FI hates them, and thinks they're stupid. He was extremely shy around me when we first dated, I can't imagine him at a strip club...he'd blush the whole time!!!
I used to hate them, but after I met a few girls who worked in them, I changed my mind. I used to think they were so demeaning to women, etc. After I knew a few of the girls, I realized that these girls (the ones that I knew) were in complete control and were robbing these guys blind, and making a fortune. So I figure, good for those girls, if the guys are retarded enough to give them all their money, then then the guys are the ones who look retarded, not the girls.
This probably makes no sense because I am totally late for an appointment, I just thought I'd share.

Re: Strip Clubs
Marnles couldn'y have said it better!!
Who cares, let them look, he is coming home to you. Also in MOSTLY all places, the girls are not allowed to touch and vice versa. I bartended in one so I know what goes on-not that much!
Don't sweat it

Re: Strip Clubs
I am with Marnels on this.
FI used to be a bouncer in gentlemen clubs and their are some that are quite trashy but the ones he worked in were upper class places and if a guy as to as much touch the girls shoe guys like FI would toss that guy out on his butt really hard. The girls are very well protected by the bouncers.
My friend used to be a dancer at a high class place in the city which opened at noon and she worked noon to 8pm and had all the business men. She said they tipped well but never really forced anything on her.
The trashy ones is where the girls are spongues and honestly dont care about themselves. All they want is a dollar so they can snort powder up their nose.
About 3 years ago, their was this big porno star Jasmine St. Clair doing a guest spot at a place FI used to bounce at and my friend used to dance with Jasmine before the porno break. So we all went downt to see her. Being in their and seeing it all first hand gave me a different perspective on the atmosphere. The guys sit by the stage and drink leaving a dollar on the stage. They then tuck it in her garter or in her g string and the chic moves it along. I honestly saw more men hanging out at the bar watching the game then the girls on the stage. I can honestly say the strip clubs that the woman go to, to see the men is worse then a gentlemens club. A LOT WORSE!! When the men strip the woman can touch, grab, lick, hold, whatever they want. Gentlemens clubs the men are forbidden to touch any girl. THey are to put the dollar in the proper location and thats it.
Do I get upset if he goes a little. I dont like the idea of half naked woman dancing around FI, but since I've gone into one and I know he used to be a bouncer none of this stuff phases him. He bounced for 3 years at places so this stuff means nothing to him. he saw it every night and hung out with the girls after work, drove them home, etc...So I just keep telling myself its ok, I know what goes on, I've seen it and I know my FI.

Re: Strip Clubs
My FH used to DJ at a strip club, and one night I went in to talk to him, because I was upset about a friedn, so I walk right in and I am trying to get his attention in the DJ booth and he was sleeping!!!!
IO had never been so excited in my life, If he could fall asleep there, I know I can trust him.
It is the girls that worked there I wouldn't trust after hearing stories about some of them.
