stuffing envelope question

well, i am making my invitations and therefore, i am not using an inner envelope. basically, i lined my envelopes, my invitation will be a card type, with the reply card and direction card inside and the invitation wording will be on the front of the card. so here is my question. when i stuff the envelope with the card, do i put the card in with the wording facing the liner or facing the folds? do i put it so that the opening of the card is at the top or at the bottom of the envelope? does it matter? i figured that putting the wording against the liner would protect it a bit. make sense?

Re: stuffing envelope question

invitation is inserted w/ the text facing the fold (back to the liner) w/ the envelope flap on the right hand side

make sense?

eta: the other items should be inserted on top of the invite in size order (smallest on top) facing the same direction as the invitation. the response card should be placed under the flap of it's envelope w/ the response card wording face up.

Re: stuffing envelope question

I don't have an inner envelope either and my invitation is a card...here is what I am doing...
My envelope goes vertical not horizontal so it may be different...it looks like a long rectangle not a wide one...
When you open my envelope the person will see the wording to the invitation. On top of the invitation will be the response card (in the envelope) the directional card and the reception card....

I am also not using any tissue paper...hope that helps

Re: stuffing envelope question

do you think it would be the biggest faux pas if i put it in so that the wording faces the liner??? i'm just thinking that if the invitation gets wet, at least there is some extra protection.

Re: stuffing envelope question

NO! invitiation gets wet = liner leaks on the front of the invite
