Stupid Question.....

I've heard a lot about photojournalism lately....What's the difference between using a photojournalist and a photographer?

Photojournalism is real life action shots most photojournalism photographs can shoot regular ports also but not all of them so verify with their book.

Regular photography is standard posed shots.

WELL THERES photojournalistic photographer and traditional.

Photojournalistic takes more candids, they capture spontaneous moments, and they tell a story with the pictures. Its not the whole posing and smiling in front of the camera, that is traditional...or even if you do pose its not mean to be one of those lets smile right into the camera type look

well, photojournalisitc photography is said to be more candid. Where you aren't posing for most of the pictures and even the ones you do pose for are not traditional.

i have just photojournalistic...of course when we take pics after the ceremony we will pose for pictures and go to a location but it will be a different type of style, kind of like how my e-pics look, different types of poses...like ill have pics with my BP but they wont be the typical lined up PICS

Any photographer and do photojournalism

its basically taking pics as they happen and not the tradional posing.

dont over pay for that...our photographer is doing both.

and not charging us any more for it

no not really true, i mean yes they can take candid pics but the whole style of photojournalism not everyone can do, they can take few pics here and there, but the point is also to tell a whole story with pics so its different to have mostly PJ throughout the whole day.

We have both. There will be two photographers, one takes the photojournalistic the other traditional.

Even our E-pics were both. The ones I leaned towards were the PJ.

we're doing both.
Thomas Paul includes two photographers. So we'll be using Tom and Colleen.
and while a lot of his stuff is candid, a lot of it is also posed to sort of look candid...
he's got a great comercial feel... a lot of his stuff looks like it should be promo shots for tv shows or up on billboards.

he does the BP posed shots but not all lined up, tilt your head and smile kind of deal...
and colleen will be taking candids ... i think
