my FH's aunt was kind enough to pay for our church 'donation' - but she also paid for our music, which is seperate and didn't tell us till last night. she gave the church one big check and now it's a big PITA because we already paid our music people (and they cashed the checks!)
so noww........i have to work on getting them to pay us back..... i know, it's not the worst thing in the world but here's the thing.... if you are going to do something nice....TELL US! what bride doesn't pay her music 9 days before the wedding?
ok, but I know...it was a really nice thing...it really was! and i am so appreciative.

It was very nice, but yes she should have told you. Maybe she thought they would have told you before you tried to make your payment. Not sure.

Wait Lisa.. Shouldn't the church already know that this has been paid already? You shouldn't have to worry about them giving it back to you.. they should just give it back without question.

Janie has a point. the CHURCH would have to pay the music people out of that money...tell them to refund it directly to you.
anyway, it IS a nice thing, but turned in to a minor PITA...you don't sound like an ingrate...just a frazzled bride with now ONE more thing to think about.

there are two ways to pay the music people.
1. through a big fatty check with the donation.
2. through 2 personal checks to the music people.
Most brides and grooms pay through the 2 personal checks, but she did #1. I have no idea why they didn't check and see that I paid already before they accepted her check (or the other way around).
The worst is the music guy told me that if he gets paid through #1 - it takes him months to get it. So it leads me to believe it'll get 'lost in the system'...
I'm just not going to worry about it at all.

I would not worry about this now....after you get back from the HM you can stalk them to get your $$$ back...I am sure that it won't be a big deal....
