Stylish MOB/MOG Dresses?

Are there any stylish MOB/MOG dresses out there? My mom can't find anything but suits and no sleeve dresses. Any ideas on dresses/stores to go to?

Go look on the Jovani website, they have lots of sexy/stylish MOB/G dresses.

Thanks..I'll look. My mom is very beautiful and her clothes are always perfect on her, however she is a little overweight and does not want her arms to show. All the dresses she sees, however are 'old and farty' I'll check out the website.

We went shopping in Woodbury Commons. There are 3 possible stores in there- Mirabella, Boutique Elle and one other.

My Mom got this dress. It's by LaBelle and she found it at a Bridal Salon in Lynbrook - Beautiful Bride was the name of it I think. They were very helpful to her.

Fiance's Mom got hers at Macy's and it's gorgeous, she stumbeled on it when shopping for something else.

You might want to use that sketchbook feature on weddingchannel.com with your Mom to help figure out what she likes and what designers might fit her taste.

My mom wanted a long sleeve dress with no jacket. Totally You in Wantagh & Sugar Plum in Lynbrook had some. Montage makes a some & I think both stores carry them.

She did say though they looked frumpy on her & she ended up getting a dress with a short jacket.

That dress is beautiful. I can see my mom wearing it. My mom really wants a dress that has Black lace over a pink underlay. If she doesn't find anything she likes, she wants to have her dress made. Thanks for your help girls. If you have any other ideas, please let me know.

2 points:

2. Remember that there is no law that says BP people need to wear 'BP designated clothes' -- in fact, for my ladies we are likely going to go shopping around holiday time when there will be lots of red and black gowns and just look at evening gowns.

I took my mom to Lord & Taylors, Bloomingdales and Saks and she ended up by a dress off the rack at Lord & Taylors that was beautiful. We both had the same problem that everything that she was shown elsewhere that was 'MoB' was really dowdy and not her personality. We found that Lord & Taylors had the best selection of dresses. They also do tailoring for free.

The first dress is my mom's dress, by Anne Barge. The second is my FMIL's by LaBelle.

Also look in Alta Moda in Bellmore, PM in Oceanside and Meneskhe in Cedarhurst.

RK might be a good place to look, too. When my mother got her dress for my brother's wedding, she did NOT want a traditional MOB/MOG dress with jacket. She found a lot of things at RK to try on (basically they were all beaded dresses with sleeves). She ended up with a beautiful dress!

My mom ordered a Jovani dress last week, I haven't seen it yet (which worries me a little), but dresses on the website are beautiful. My mother is very modern and she was happy with their selection

My mom got a beautiful dress from Entoto Couture on Northern Blvd. It is formal and beautiful and a bit funky.

My mom was having the same problem. We went to Adriennes in Islip just to look and she found a dress by Montage she liked. Then we went to Commack Wed. Center and she fell in love with a dress by Avanti. My mom is not a old mom and she wants to look young and elegant at the same time. She is happy with her choice. You just need to shop around . She will find the one.

My mom and I just went to Metamorphosis in St. James and it was great. The people were wonderful and there was an awesome selection.
