Suggestions for June flowers?

Besides Tulips, what flowers are in season in June? I am thinking a dark pink, mabye even a suttle version of hot pink. I haven''''t been to a florist yet, can anyone tell me how much time I need?

Suggestions for June flowers?

You may want to visit a florist as soon as possible, since June is a very busy wedding month. You don't want to end up paying more for a florist at the last minute. Suggestions for flowers in June: Tulips are actually more April/May; you will have to ask the florist how likely you'd be to have tulips in June. There are many roses that come in beautiful shades of pink. Daisies are in season in June. For filler in your bouquets, you can use Heather, which is a very pretty shade of pink. Callalillies also come in various shades - some of them pink. Purple 'bluebird' roses are also beautiful in the spring. I highly recommend my florist, Voegler's, in Merrick. They are very reasonably priced, and will create exactly what you want - not what they think you should have. Good luck!

Should bridal flowers match centerpieces?

I like the idea of holding a few pink calla lillies tied w/ a ribbon. I don't want a boquet. And, for my centerpieces, I'm envisioning a glass vase with a boquet of the same flowers that I hold? But, I want the flower girls to throw rose petals, so I am not sure if all the flowers should match, or does it not matter?

I am also getting married in June

and the florist I am using asked me what types of flowers I liked and don't like. I also looked at some albums of their work. When I told him what I wanted in the centerpiece, if something was out of season or would be expensive to get at that time of year, he told me so and offered alternatives. So, your best bet might be to get together some pictures of bouquets/centerpieces & speak to a florist.

Should bridal flowers match centerpieces?

Nina, I don't think that your centerpieces need to match your bouquets. I didn't have a flower girl, but my guests threw coral rose petals. For my flowers, I carried ivory roses, lily of the valley (silk, b/c it was out of season) and heather. I also had some large seashells added b/c it matched my theme. My BM's carried coral and purple roses with heather and smaller seashells. My centerpieces were very seaside-inspired. I had hurricane vases filled with sand, seashells, and a white pillar candle, surrounded by beargrass, eucalyptus, daisies, heather and some other 'wispy' greens and flowers. I also had some extra large seashells added in. Around the centerpieces, on the tables, the florist scattered miniature seashells. Each place setting had a napkin ring made out of a sanddollar and heather with raffia string. So you see, the bouquets and centerpieces don't have to match - they should compliment each other, or have elements that fit a theme. Your florist can advise you how to pull everything together. But they don't have to be identical. In fact, lots of times an eclectic approach is striking. Good luck!
