Suggestions - Party

I'm trying to plan a party for my husband's 30th birthday. Could be approximately 20-40 people. I'll know an exact count as the date gets closer.

I'm requesting a private room but i'm open to suggestions. Looking for a place to have dinner and drinks. (ideally somewherein NYC)
