Suits vs Tuxes

Has anyone decided to have the boys in suits over tuxes? Anyone have pics they want to post?

Re: Suits vs Tuxes

i just posted my guys suits in a thread below.

we did light colored suits b/c we had a spring wedding, but i always thought dark grey suits would look awesome for a fall wedding.

Someone once told me it depends on how formal the bride'sdress is?

We decided to go with this tux . We're doing black bow ties and cummerbunds made from extra fabric from the bridesmaids' dresses.

Re: Suits vs Tuxes

I just love a man in a tuxedo so we are definitely going with tuxes. I feel like suits are more of an everyday thing. Men don't wear tuxes all the time so it is special.

Re: Suits vs Tuxes

My FH is wearing a black Canali suit, which looks exactly like the Canali tuxedo, except for the satin line on the pants, or the satin on the jacket lapel. He is wearing a black and white Armani tie (wich I choose )

The two best men (we don't have groomsmen) and my father and brother (one of the best men is his father) will be wearing black tuxedos with black bowtie and cummerbunds. The ring bearer will be wearing a black tuxedo with vest and black bow tie. In this way FH will stand out on the photos. He wanted to be different than everyone else

We are having a formal ceremony in church and our reception hall is very formal (DeSeversky Center), however...the suit he will be wearing is very formal and fitting.

I think it depends on the suit. If you go to Brooks Brothers or get a Canali or Armani suit, they look very classic. The best thing about it....they will be able to wear it again!!!

Here is a photo of the suit. Once if fitted it looks so good.

FH looks amazing in it. He got broad shoulders and a small waist, so the European cut works best for him

Re: Suits vs Tuxes

I feel like Deja Vu, I just answered this post. lol

We are doing slim cut navy suits. Found a great shop in Brooklyn, I think I posted it just a few min ago.

ETA: IMO Tux are overatted. I started looking at the modern high end ones for ideas and looks. Really the best ones just look like shiny suits. So I would say if your dress is very formal and shiny, he should be shiny too. If not then I'd must more prefer a man in proper suit than a dingy rental tux.
