For those brides (like me) that are getting married in the summertime; do you sometimes wish you would have went with a cooler month.
We have had some hot days so far and I had invisioned myself taking pics outside and the sun beating on me. I wish my gown had an built in AC

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
I've been worrying about the same thing too! At lunch today I was like how am I possibly going to put on a big gown and take pics with a happy face on in this heat? lolz...hopefully we'll be so emotional we don't feel the heat?!? lolz wishful thinking!

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
yea I am constantly saying to myself 'What the heck was I thinking?' Apparently I wasn't. I was so excited to be engaged that I forgot what the heat and humidity in NY feel like in the summertime.

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
yes, i think we all might have questioned it at some point... but honestly, i think we will all be too focused on gettin married to our fh's to even think about the weather!

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
I would rather the sun be out and it be a warm day than a grayish day in the winter or a rainy one in the spring. I questioned July also, but in my opinion when it comes down to it you get much better pictures when the grass is green and the flowers are blooming

I love the heat... just wanted to make FH sweat since he always keeps the AC pumpin so its ice cold in our apt!

I love the summer and that is why we initially choose it for the wedding BUT I am worried that it is going to be 100 degrees and humid. I guess most of the day will be spent in AC and I will probably be too emotional to notice the heat!!

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
I really dont know what I would do in July August months because my gown is so heavy but it is still not that warm in May, a built in AC under the dress is a good invention

Oh yes!!!! I kick myself in the butt but, this is also the time when I get excited. I guess I feel more into the wedding with the nicer weather.

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
I know... BUT I keep reminding myself that my friends got married last July (on the 20th I think) and they had a beautiful, no humidity, 75* day! Fingers crossed that we all get days like that!

I am hoping for the same thing!! I originally wanted a Dec. wedding but my FH refused. But my girlfriend got married last July and also had a 73 degree day with no humidity....so we will see!!!

I thought the same thing... but I ddin't have much choice I work for the school district so I only have summers off.... Or I could have gotten married another time and waited for summer for the HM..... hmmmm... Too late now!
I haven't gotten my dress yet... so I am seriously thinking something light... lace or something... without all the layers.
It's getting HOT in here..... and out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That'y my problem too... FH is a teacher so I didn't have much choice!
There's a Maggie Sottero that I LOVE and it's chiffon so it's light - I hope I love it as much on as I do in the pics.

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
My friend got married in Aug and we imagined the sun crippling us because of the humidty etc. But it was a gorgeous day!!!! Not too hot either. Just a perfect breeze!

I didn't even think of the humidity... I hope it's not too humid. My hair doesn't cooperate with humidity.

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
Hey there. FH and I knew we didnt want to get married in the COLD and prefer warmer months (even though when you see pricing makes you wish you were a jan/feb bride). lol Right now since we will be by water, we are hoping a nice day, not too bad (praying since its memorial day weekend).
Went to try on dresses yesterday for first time after work (solo too..scary thing!) and found I never thought I would like taffeta but since it was so much LIGHTER to carry around may go that route.
Too fearful with lace that I will get it caught on something...just my clumsy luck!

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
I think you guys will be fine. My sister got married on the hottest day of the year and she was all smiles. She said she didn't even think about it because she was so happy and preoccupied with her day.

Re: SUMMER BRIDES
The heat isn't an issue. I'm just a little concerned about us and the bridal party squinting in the pics because the sun is in their eyes. Hopefully that won't be a problem.
